It’s important to know both what we know about the new vaccines and what we don’t know.
I’ve practiced for 35 years. I am always honest with my patients, even if conversations are difficult or confrontational. I will also be honest about saying “I don’t know.”

What do we know about the new TYPE of vaccine being given?
Pfizer and Moderna were the first COVID-19 vaccines to be approved. Both use a new technology called mRNA vaccine, which has never been broadly given to a human population to prevent any disease.
Let that sink in for a moment.
All previous vaccines take a weakened virus or a piece of the virus and inject it into humans to induce an immune response sufficient to prevent a disease. Pfizer’s and Moderna’s vaccines inject mRNA, which is a protein code that instructs the body to make a part of COVID-19’s spike protein that will then induce an immune response.
Our bodies daily use our own mRNA to carry instructions from DNA to make various proteins the body uses. While this new vaccine science sounds intriguing, it has never been tried in humans in this scope. It may be a breathtaking scientific advancement heralding a new path for all vaccines. It may also be less effective or have currently unknown side effects.

Whatever you need to believe
Dear mr. gas-doc
The “I took an oath” thing: lots of people have taken oaths. LOTS AND LOTS.
So don’t act like that makes you morally superior.
Anyway, is my-body-my-choice only available to pregnant women who want to kill their own child? Or is there some finer point that Freepers can’t comprehend?
For anyone interested in the J & J vaccine here is a very readable and informative article. The vaccine’s record, thus far, is very impressive especially for serious disease, death and no allergic reactions in the trials.
” Eighty-five percent protection against severe disease and 100 percent protection against hospitalizations and death.”
You're not the only one on the thread, bro, and this is not your lecture hall for scared interns.
People would rather hear you defend your case objectively than defend your self subjectively.
I speak for many on this thread in stipulating that doctors have more training than nurses, ok? It's common knowledge.
But it doesn't necessarily make your opinion the only possible answer for every person considering the vaccine, nor make such a vaccine right for every person.
Cite actual research without condescension and your arguments may appear more effective.
Bingo! My thought precisely! Does. Not. Compute.
😉
“I took an oath” just like every RAT takes an oath to the Constitution. Utterly worthless.
Darn right. Well said.
The amount of horrid dietary voodoo advice given, unnecessary operations performed, dangerous drug prescriptions written, and bungled diagnoses are legion.
The value paid for service rendered is one of the absolute worst.
"Albion?"
"Yes?"
"It's DOCTOR KnowItAll. Let me speak to DOCTOR Wilde."

FFS we feel sorry for you. But you took an oath to care for sick people. So it seems very disingenuous (maybe there is a better term) to connect your practice experience to someone who is not even your patient.
Can we agree that bureaucrats and politicians have made a problem into a disaster?
I guess they know how to do that very well!
Physicians may have more training in the *practice* of medicine but they get limited exposure to epidemiology, virology or statistics. Plus virology has changed dramatically in the past 30 years..
Unless a physician did a joint MD-MPH they would probably have little to no expertise in quantitative analyses. That's why the New England Journal has epidemiologists and statisticians on their review boards. OTOH a nurse with a master's degree probably has had 2 or 3 courses in statistics and those with a DNS probably have had a course in multivariate statistics.
Logic says, if you claim to be an expert in A it doesn't make you an expert in B.
Covid vaccine chart showing which use aborted cells in production or testing

“I’m just amazed at how supposedly busy docs, working with so many Covid pts, have so much time to post on an internet forum....day after day (even when working long shifts)....”
I wondered about that as well. Maybe they will explain.
No doubt Pharma also maintains a few fake social media accts to help promote their products. And various govt agencies and private foundations, as well.
See post 85 for a more detailed explanation.
You are so right. And extremely well-funded marketing and advertising departments; yet another reason our meds costs have spiked so dramatically after the gubmit started allowing prescription medicine ads on television. It used to go on behind the scenes, with "drug reps" visiting the doctor's office to leave off not just brochures about a drug and untracked samples of several drugs, such as antidepressants or stimulants that the doctor could use on himself if he wished, but also lavish holiday gifts or passes to "medical seminars" in Hawaii or Las Vegas, doctors only (no spouses).
After centuries of "ethical" medicine having avoided advertising, now BigPharm can also go right to the gullible tv-watching sheep with high-production videos of winsome interracial couples running through hazy fields of flowers, jumping in slo-mo with their dog and frisbee and scrunchy grins, having their best life in a McMansion in spite of that pesky old cancer, etc. It's even more sickening than the legally obligatory litany of side effects rapidly recited.
Thanks for that link.
Spot on, what you wrote
One thing the chart shows is that many vaccines are not mRNA based.
Anyone threatened at work should use that and the abortion info to defer to a later vaccine , proving you’re not anti-vaxx. Just anti THAT vaxx
“Eighty-five percent protection against severe disease and 100 percent protection against hospitalizations and death.”
Thank you for thinking of me in my confusion. But they are talking about the same trial I was and it only was accomplished in three location: US, South/Central America, and Africa. And I’m willing to bet it was in a location that was highly controlled with little interaction of regular people or even many visitors. I hope he’s right. But time will tell. Thanks again.
