It's like when the shell of the iconic Winchester company was bought and moved out of Connecticut.

But like Gov. Malloy said: "we don't need companies like that in Connecticut..."

And by "that" he meant gun makers and related machine shops. Good riddance to old-timey industries - we should all just learn to code....

And to think, in the anti-gun 1960s the congressmen of that time demanded a halt to the import of “army surplus rifles” officially to “prevent crime”.

In reality it was to protect their rifle makers of Remington, Winchester and Savage from cheap competition.

How times have changed.

Goodness...what memories flooded! I recall going to 4 position matches in New Haven at the old Winchester Rifle range.

Yeah, I know, I'm older than dirt!

Connecticut PROUD! Like Pratt and Stanley, et al, generations of men [and wimmin] worked there producing fine firearms. The politicos know nothing of the pride in making something or the ethic of hard work.
