Looking for Android cell texting app with no Google involvement or snooping or ability to see what I text. Complete privacy from Google or any big tech or anyone other than who I text with.
Same for Android Calendar app.
We need to drop Google, Apple, Microsoft every way we can. Help them fail and disappear.
I use Brave browser beta version, and duckduckgo search, and Protonmail pro.

If you are running an Android phone straight from Google, with the standard Google, they can and do all type of spying.

Not really. Android is the name of a Linux distribution usually associated with Google. My formerly Android phone is running LineageOS which has zero to do with anything Google.
On LineageOs, there will be a step by step FYI/DIY guide for each phone. Look at that for your exact phone, i.e. Samsung Galaxy model XXX...

Protonmail is an encrypted email based in Switzerland. Very privacy focused. No ads. They don’t even ask your name for the free version. They are rolling out a calendar app in beta.
Don’t know of a completely secure texting app. TextFree lets you get a noncell number, but you use their app, and it loaded with ads. Let me know if you find one.
I believe ProtonMail just released a calendar app for Android within the last week or two.

Tried to sign up for Gab. Problem was I used my gmail address. Never got the confirmation email on gmail. Is Google messing with me? Has anyone else experienced this?

I dropped the Google search app and use DuckDuckGo, which does not sell your information or track you on the web. TO me, it’s every bit as good. I quit Google mail, too, since their new agreement allows them to not only read your mail, but to target and sell your address. I’m off FB and YouTube, too. I never did use Twitter, but see that they had a $1.3B loss this year compared to almost that same number as profit last year. If enough people jump ship, perhaps Google and FN will get the idea that freedom of speech and privacy do mean something to us.
