One of the all-time greatest bands in my humble opinion.
One of my favorite albums. It was a generational treasure. I saw a bumper sticker recently that said “I may be old but at least I saw great bands.” Rush is one example.
Hear that, New Rush? Don’t just post a bunch of sentence fragments from your Rush blog tonight. Here’s some actual Rush news!

Above is the concert video clip of the three goofballs doing their “skit” or whatever. After their break and leading into Tom Sawyer. Their “Time Machine Tour” where they played the entire Moving Pictures album.
“Girls, please - STOP moving pitchers!”
Loved it. Watched a documentary a while back about them. Was great if you like rush. Like watching that stuff.. Was one of my favorite albums. Ever.
Rush has a history similar to Led Zeppelin. The critics of the day said they would bomb and be forgotten.
I did my part in celebrating by listening to it on my booze walk last night.
One interesting thing is that whenever you hear Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley asked who the band they ever played with they most most admire they immediately say Rush. It’s clear they have the highest respect. Whatever you think of Kiss, they’ve seen it all and played with everyone.
I thought you were posting about Rush Limbaugh. He is the only “Rush” I consider relevant.
Rush is the only band where every musician is considered by some to be the greatest of all time on their respective instrument.
Peart is the obvious one, but Lee is considered by many to be the greatest bassist of all time, and some of his licks are quite incredible, not to mention his keyboards/vocals.
And before you write Lifeson off, he is one of the few guitarists to play every style, from acoustic, to space age effects, as good as anyone can play either.
And the building they’re in front of is Queen’s Park in Toronto, which is the Capitol Building for the Province of Ontario. I’ve been there many, many times.
Moving Pictures got me into Rush. There was never any way out... :)
I wore this cassette out in my Walkman when I was in the army. Great album. Carbon-dating myself coming and going, right there.
Always great to meet other Rushians.
Guy I was dating introduced me to them around 86. What a treasure! The band, not the guy.
I got caught up and then every new release day was a holiday. Take the day off, get to the music store. Unwrap it in the car, look at everything.
Rush home, phone off the hook, shades down, dogs knocked out on Dramamine.
Light a candle and push Start.
Always took 2 or 3 replays to absorb the new direction. I think Presto was the easiest to love right off.
Got to a lot of shows before 2001, just a handful after. I lost my concert buddy when I got married %-)
Yesterday a FB group asked what tunes were the favorite of the female fans. I listed my favorite from each studio album.
I could listen to Rush every day. Some songs more than others but any RUSH is better than many others.
Still cry about Neil.
Happy birthday Moving Pictures.
Holy shoot! Me and a bud went to the Moving Pictures concert in Minneapolis in 1981 (was that really 40 years ago?!).
Our tickets had us on the main floor but way in the back. After the warmup band was done we wandered up to the front and found the 2nd row almost empty on the right side of the isle. We figured what the heck, lets take a seat; the worst that can happen is we have to go back to our own seats. But nobody ever came.
Long story short - an amazing concert. Geddy Lee had his Moog setup right in front of us. Awesome experience.
Oh, and when I went to Marine bootcamp later that fall, my girlfriend broke up with me and eventually married my bud.
