Sen. John Thune (R-SD), the second-ranking Senate Republican, said Friday he could support a resolution to censure President Donald Trump.

Thune, the Senate Republican whip, told reporters that he could support a resolution to censure Trump depending on how the resolution was framed. He added that the resolution would have to be “effective.”

I am a South Dakotan. I have supported John in the past but seems he has gone around with head head up McConnell’s butt too long.

I am an independent voter, but I will re-register as Republican once again solely to vote against him in the next primary. If he does get the nomination I will vote for anyone other than him in the general election.

This is really sad as there is a long family connection with the Senator and his campaigns.

What does he mean by “effective”? That it must destroy Trump? I thought Thune had some brains. I even thought of him as a possible presidential candidate. My list of losers is steadily growing—Haley, Thune, Pence, Cruz, Rubio...

What is infecting these Republicans? Can’t Thune get the message that this entire process is unconstitutional and the “evidence” of Trump’s malfeasance is nothing but lies? Why should any of this have any credence? Just participating in the “trial” is a disgrace. It gives it credibility it doesn’t deserve.
