WASHINGTON, Monday, Feb. 11.

Private dispatches from Tennessee indicate that the State has voted against having any Convention, at the same time it has elected an overwhelming majority of Union delegates to one. Mr. ETHERIDGE's county is nearly unanimous for Union. Later and fuller advices received from Texas show that only about forty-six counties in the State voted at the recent election for a Convention, and only one-eighth, instead of one-third, of the usual popular vote was cast. Under the law referring the secession Ordinance to the people, the election comes off in twenty days notice, and the returns are ordered to be received for only seven days thereafter, so that the result may be declared in time to get the State out of the Union on the 2d of March, before LINCOLN'S inauguration. Texans here say, that in seven days it will be impossible to get returns from more than forty counties in the State. If this is so, Gov. HOUSTON, whose bravery and firmness in support of an honest instinct no man questions, will be compelled to refuse to consider anything on the election which brings him returns only from a fragment of the people.

Messrs. GILMER, ETHERIDGE and NELSON, of Tennessee, say that if the North will now do anything to give them any basis on which to stand at home, the Border States can't be dragged out of the Union, and will undertake themselves to crush out secession and rebellion all over the South, THE PEACE CONVENTION -- PROSPECT OF A SETTLEMENT.

The Peace Conference had only a short session to-day. Mr. TYLER, who was detained in his room yesterday by sickness, was in his seat.
