Mitt Romney is a spring chicken. At a sprightly 73, the GOP’s 2012 nominee is: one year younger than the outgoing president and 2024 frontrunner, five years younger than both the incumbent president and the Senate minority leader, and seven years younger than the Speaker of the House. In the uppermost echelons of American government, only the Senate majority leader—boy wonder Chuck Schumer—is any younger, and only by three years.
This fact has been gnawing at me as the septuagenarian Utah senator/Massachusetts governor from Michigan snatches headlines left and right. Maybe I’m wrong; I hope I am. But in the age (no pun intended) of President Joe Biden, it’s hard not to think that Romney might still have an eye toward the Oval Office.
Mitt didn’t move to Utah for nothing. At the time, it seemed like he might have been gearing up for a 2020 primary contest, wriggling back into national news with a 2018 Senate campaign. By the beginning of campaign season, that route was obviously impossible. (Bill Weld, his predecessor as Massachusetts governor, tried—and got a single delegate from Iowa.) Now, as the first murmurs of 2024 prospects begin to surface, every other story in the New York Times contains Mitt Romney’s name. It may seem odd that Mitt Romney—of “binders full of women” and “47 percent” infamy—has become a media darling, but the only Republican to vote for conviction in Trump’s first impeachment has done a fine job courting corporate outlets.
The senator’s best recent clip came in the midst of the Capitol riot, when he shouted at Ted Cruz and company, “This is what you’ve gotten,” as the mob entered the building......

It would not surprise me!
Willard may as well run as a RAT.
He’ll have a better chance switching parties.
I won’t vote for him again. If the gun confiscation bill goes through, I won’t ever vote again.
I have been saying this all along he wants Trump out of the way in the belief that as we can see just from his month in office Biden is going to be a disaster and that in 2024 the country will be begging to remove him if Mitt can just make it out of the primary... He can taste it and he’ll only get there by getting rid of Donald as soon as possible
Beware of grifters bearing grifts.....................
He is a criminal communist just like the rest of the wicked junta cabal, a grifter tool of the dark secret forces behind this criminal overthrow of our government.
Fool me once shame on you
Fool me twice, well, that ain’t gonna happen
Romney is the perfect two time loser to run in 2024.
Beware Mitt Romney. Period.
Media darling = useful idiot.
I think he’s closer to a 3-4x loser actually. Ted Kennedy beat him in 1994 and he was clearly not going to win reelection as Massachusetts Governor in 2006 so he opted not to seek reelection and chose to lose the 2008 presidential race instead and then he went on to lose again in 2012.
Democrat’s dream is they run against Romney in’24.
It’s a sure fire way to get 70 million Republicans to stay home (and I will be one of them).
As will I.
He couldn’t win a fair primary election. He would be like Jeb Bush and John Connelly. Spend a lot of money and no delegates.
Romney is hated, HATED, but the rank-and-file republicans.
I don’t think the Republicans know how to rig an election, much less a Republican primary. Mitt will go the way of JEB¡ if he runs.
And if he tries to run as a Democrat, that 30 pieces of silver at $27/oz - won’t get him very far.
Got to get Owens to run against him in the next senate election.
Get that back stabbing sob out of there.
His base is rather thin. He let many of us down in 2012 and has not distinguished himself since.
