Just in passing, Lookner mentioned this post's headline

O’Keefe has moved to Gab. Just followed him there.

"I never understood why anyone would want to get info on Twitter"

I never joined Twitter, Facebook, or any other social media site until I joined Parler the end of June. I joined because a lot of people were starting to be banned from Twitter, and thought I'd try it out. Then of course it got de-platformed. So I joined Gab, but I don't spend much time on it. I guess Free Republic spoiled me. Been here for 23+ years, and find FR to be a much friendlier place, despite the handful of knuckleheads that pop up every-so-often.

Yes, but I am sensing an unconscious rebellion among a lot of younger people.

I am a musician and longtime vinyl junkie. Between the time they introduced CDs in late 80’s, until about 10 years ago, most record collectors were boomers. Now, all of the sudden, young people are crazy about vinyl and all the best used record stores are geared towards a younger crowd.

And they don’t have the snobbiness of the older record collectors. In the old days, you would never hear anything
as commercial as Billy Joel or Boston being played in a used record store. It was always some old blues or jazz or psychedelic rock.

But the younger people are open to anything that’s old. It’s like they can sense the relaxed warmth that’s missing from their cold, stressful, digital world. It’s why people still listen to Bach. You can hear how much more simple, yet more disciplined life was in centuries past.

Modern art and architecture has tried to promote coldness. The beauty of all vintage art is its warmth and ornateness. The colder modern life becomes, the more people will rebel against it.

Why are these conservatives waiting to be banned?

Lead by leaving!
