“The Mandalorian” star Pedro Pascal is having a big week — expressing support for his trans sister on Instagram, the announcement of a new TV role and some Twitter drama in light of his colleague Gina Carano’s firing.
On Twitter, some pulled Pascal’s name into the controversy surrounding former MMA fighter Carano’s recent firing from “The Mandalorian,” following a social media post in which the 38-year-old actress compared being a Republican to being Jewish in Nazi Germany.
“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future,” a Lucasfilm spokesperson said in a statement Wednesday. “Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”

I hate that they ruin anything that’s remotely good with the cancel culture woke nonsense. The fact that they can’t see how they validated the tweet with their actions would shock me, but even the Nazi’s were the heroes of their stories until they were faced with the product of their actions.
I’m still trying to figure out which people Disney think that Carano denigrated. Was it the Nazis, was it the people who turned in their Jewish neighbors? It doesn’t even make sense.
If the Nazis were pro-communist, and remained murderously anti-Jewish, the left would have no problem with them.

This action by Disney shows that the only group safe to criticize are conservatives. They are actually supporting Carano’s premise by ostracizing her.

Agreed. This whole announcement is confusing. Why is the word “Nevertheless” used in the second sentence? The use of the word makes no sense given the sentence before it.

Gina simply made an observation, one that was more or less true.

Agree. The round up of Jews in Germany and Western Europe was either done through voluntarily complying with orders to report for “transport” or by arrest (usually by local police) and local imprisonment until shipped East. A lot of informing did go on but very little violence if I am recalling sources correctly.
From the histories I have read and videos of historical events posted on-line, the savaging of Jews (and others) was mostly a conquered territories of Eastern Europe phenomena. Although there were plenty of malefactors everywhere, I recall Ukraine and the Baltic states as being the most enthusiastic abusers - at least on film. They certainly supplied their share of recruits for the Einsatzgruppen and death camp staffs.
The key factor in triggering this behavior was that the “authorities” now gave permission, condoned, and actively encouraged the abuse and murder of the anathematized populations.
This is the point Gina Carano was making: permission is now being given.
A one way river of abuse is now being directed toward the “other” by the liberal/left. I may have missed it, but I have yet to hear prominent Democrats strongly and repeatedly condemn the very violent rhetoric and actions being directed at Trump supporters, conservatives, and traditional values Americans generally. This violent rhetoric is especially pernicious among supposed left/liberal Democrat political leaders, media personalities, and social media “influencers.”
On those occasions when such leaders do feel the need to issue statements condemning the violent language being used, their pronouncements are always conditional and have the feel of being issued mostly as a CYA measure just in case things start to go sideways later on.

What part of her posts were misinformed. It is my understanding that their neighbors did indeed turn on the Jews.
