“When you’re removed from the platform, you’re removed from the platform.” So says the giant tech platform, Twitter.
They have announced that Donald J. Trump, the 45th President of the United States is now permanently banned from Twitter and will never be allowed back on the platform, even if he ran for President again (looks like a great opportunity for Trump to start his own for the next few years).
“Our policies are designed to make sure that people are not inciting violence,” Twitter CFO Ned Segal said.
In response to those who would say that Twitter has been hurt by banning conservative leaders and thus losing users to other start up social media apps and sites, Segal said, “We added 40 million people to our DAU [daily active user count] last year, and 5 million last quarter. In January, we added more DAU than the average of the last four Januarys, so hopefully that gives people a sense for the momentum we’ve got from all the hard work we’ve done on the service.”

I’ve banned Twitter forever. It’s no longer permitted on the network I administrate. Nor is Facebook or Google.
Ridiculous. Twitter isn’t strangling anyone - none of us has to go there and there are alternatives. I deleted my account - not going to support that jackass.

I did the exact same! I deleted my account right before the election as I saw the writing on the wall with this bunch. I had the account for a couple of years to follow sports, but I honestly don’t miss it at all. It’s a complete time thief.
Twitter won’t be around in a couple of years.

When Trump is cleared from impeachment charges, which is a ruling he did not incite, he should sue the crap out of Twitter for defamation. For trillions.
Nothing is forever. Twitter ban, Trump ineligible for reelection, ..., it can all change.
