Step away from the omelette: Eating just half an egg a day increases your risk of DEATH by 7% - unless you ditch the yolks, researchers claim

Boiled, fried, scrambled or in an omelette, whole eggs pose a threat to health and eating more of them increases your risk of death, a study claims.

Researchers found eating just half a whole egg — which includes the yolk and the white — increases the likelihood of dying by seven per cent.

Risk of death increases by a further seven per cent for every half an egg on top of this, so a person eating one egg a day has at 14 per cent greater chance of death than someone who avoids the food.

Chinese researchers who led the study believe high fat and cholesterol levels in eggs are to blame.

They warned that people should use only the whites or switch to healthier egg substitutes, which lower the risk of dying.

Substituting an equivalent amount of nuts or legumes for half a whole egg reduced death rates by up to a third. Poultry, dish or dairy products had a similar effect.

Or ice cream with caramel sauce.

89 and kicking. I love watching him make his egg dishes and then get so frustrated when I can’t even get the whites cooked and leave the yolks runny.

“The yolk is the source of the most of an egg’s vitamins and essential nutrients, including calcium, phosphorus, zinc, thiamin (vitamin B1), vitamin B12, vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin D, and vitamin K. Egg yolks also contain as much as 60% of your daily value of choline (based on a 2,000 calorie diet). ...”

from https://www.masterclass.com/articles/whats-the-difference-between-egg-yolks-and-egg-whites

Read that, ZINC, VITAMIN D,... nutrients.

THEY want you sick and dead. Wear a mask! So you do not get sunshine oka Vitamin D and you get no fresh air. FakeFLOTUS Dr Jill wants you to mask while you walk your dog outdoors - she isn’t just stupid, she’s EVIL. Don’t eat eggs! So you are depleted of more Vitamin D and ZINC. Meat - the other major source of zinc and nutrients - is “bad”, you should be vegan, according to EVIL.

ALL healing requires Vitamin C, ZINC and protein. That’s how your body heals cells, wounds, repairs everything while you sleep.

People dying of CV19 are specifically Vitamin D deficient!

Not enough of you useless eaters are dying yet!

How about 2 eggs on Saturday and 2 eggs on Sunday only.
Let’s see, 4 eggs =8 halves. OhOh. That’s more than 7 halves for a week.

Yep, we’re screwed, even if we think we’re cutting down.

And it’s so wasteful throwing that tasty yolk away.

".... eating just a half a whole egg.... increases the likelihood of dying by seven per cent...."

If you eat no eggs at all, your likelihood of dying is 100%.

How can eating eggs increase the likelihood of you dying above 100%?

Am I missing something here?

Been hearing this garbage for years. Recently decided to up daily my egg consumption. I eat at least 3-4 eggs a day, every day. On my last set of lab results.... my cholesterol was down and my fasting blood sugar was down.

But don’t mind my opinion, I am only a nurse and have been in the medical field for 45 years.

Thank you for your post. Given that 1 eat at least 1 daily and up to 10/week, I’m delighted to know that consuming more than 1 egg per day was associated with a significant reduction in risk of coronary artery disease.

You are right. I have a4 egg omelet for breakfast every morning with bacon. I chop a jalapeno in it to neutralize the harmful effects.

Enjoying a couple spiced eggs with a late lunch. Write me if you want the recipe.

My great grandmother ate two scrambled eggs and two pieces of bacon fried on her wood burning cook stove everyday for 92 years. I’ll take my chances...

My dad passed at 97. He said his secrets were red wine, ballroom dancing and eating an egg every day.
