Raising the steaks: World's first 3D bioprinted RIBEYE STEAK that's 'just as tender and juicy as one you'd buy from a butcher' is unveiled The 3D bioprinted ribeye steak is real meat but requires no animals to be killed Cells from a swab are grown in a lab and then used to create the replica meat No price has yet been revealed for the ribeye and it could be three years before it is commercially available E
A juicy ribeye steak is a treat for many, but meat eating is increasingly falling out of fashion due to ethical and environmental concerns.
Now, an Israeli company has revealed the world's first ever 3D bioprinted ribeye made with real cow cells, and it is completely cruelty and slaughter-free.
Scientists took swabs from two cows, cloned and grew them in a lab, and pieced them all together to form a replica steak.
Aleph Farms, the company behind the 'Frankenstein dish', says the harvesting of cells is no more painful or invasive than a human doing a cheek swab.
Cows that give their cells to the process are not killed, but the product is real meat, posing a conundrum for some vegetarians who choose the diet because of their environmental or animal cruelty concerns.
Aleph claims the lab-grown meat offers the same delicious and juicy attributes as an authentic ribeye bought from a butcher.

I was gonna post this earlier, it looks awful and I love ribeye.
I dunno about anyone else, but that’s a pretty crappy looking steak to me. Too fatty, odd color.....not fooled by the sprig of rosemary.
Oh, good. This will be a time saver. Next time I go to The UPS Store to make photocopies, I’ll order a rib eye and baked potato while I’m waiting.
A steak is more than just one kind of cell though. There’s muscle tissue, fat, sinew, connective tissue, blood vessels, etc. Then of course if you want a ribeye, there’s bone, and also bone marrow like my mother likes to gnaw on. Doubt they’re growing all that in their petri dish.
So what do we do with all those male calves growing up needed for a few cells, impregnating cows, and nothing else? Sell them as pets to live to a ripe old age? Would gelding them be considered cruel, too?
I also disagree with the premise of the article that meat eating is falling out of fashion. Maybe it is at the “Sprouts and Twigs Hut” in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, but there are twelve different beef &/or chicken joints for every veggie outlet. Probably 200 for every vegan outlet.
Just off the top of my head here in Phoenix, burger chains only:
McDonald’s, Jack-in-the-Box, Carl’s Jr., Burger King, Wendy’s, Whataburger, Culver’s, Steak’n’Shake (in danger of closing permanently), Smashburger, The Habit, Fuddruckers, Five Guys, Dairy Queen, White Castle, Sonic, Waffle House.
Well, you gotta pay premium to get the de-legged crickets, that’s the secret.
If I want a steak. I’ll eat a steak. Genesis, chapter 18. A theophany where God visits abraham and eats meat. If it is good enough for God, it is good enough for me. Don’t be shamed into not eating what you want.
I almost forgot “In ‘n’ Out”!
$69.99 per pound lol
Welcome to the 21st Century where food is fake, outrage is fake, elections are fake, death tolls are fake.....
And Israelis did this?
Talk about a people who should know better.
Amen, bro. As the bumper sticker akses, “If God didn’t intend for us to eat animals, why did He make them so tasty?”
How long will it be before we grow an orange in a lab culture instead of growing a tree in an orange grove?
And Biden is the first Bio-printed president.

a frankenstein dish sounds like another attempt to get people to go along with the green new deal...
“I don’t know. It does have a slight metallic taste with a hint of plastic.”
Hahahahahaha
Right. That's just another liberal bromide without any basis in fact. They SO want it to be true.
The cows are happy, but go tell it to the chickens...
Nope, never...
