Somethings been puzzling me about our side since the November election. I've noticed an inordinate percentage of people on the right being nihilistic & petulant. I have always assumed we are simply smarter than they are. I think that this election opened my eyes not just to the level of corruption of the Democrats, but more so the lack of sincerity of many on my own side.
What I've witnessed is a collapse of shared will. You may blame others failures or betrayals for bringing you down that long, sad road. In reality, it's just you! Every time you boycott an election or knowingly vote for assinine third parties that don't have the support to win, you cede this country further to those you claim to fear the most.
I finally realized that maybe the reason that many people loved President Trump was because he was strong. He was your knight on a white horse. You thought he could do all the fighting for you. I don't guess you completely learned until election night that he can't fight it all on his own. He needed more than just your words.
You don't abandon the people who are counting on you. President Trump never did. We need to start banding together because there are extremely important battles taking place right now- election security, immigration, speech, religion, shut downs. For God sakes, Democrats & the media are trying to ban us. Wake up! Mitch McConnell isn't our biggest problem right now!!
There are no easy fights or knights on white horses. We have to save ourselves & each other. We have got to unite to defeat our enemies. They are attempting to divide us & too many of the weak minded are unknowingly falling for it 😉
More people in history voted for him than any other president in the history of the country.
The fault isn't with 'our side' ... the 'fault' was due to CHEATING'
That never works out well.
I prefer to make them No Longer Useful to Democrats and the Democrats do the dirty work for me.
There is certainly truth in what you wrote. My frustration almost singlehandedly comes from my attempt to engage in friendly conversations on this very issue & encountering a rude, insulting & Rambo-esque (as mentioned by others) attitude. It’s like a nihilistic sensibility has taken hold & reality has gone out the window 🤷🏼
She’s got a good point, so many loved Trump because he was a fighter, but they want to sit in the stands and watch him knock out guys, but then when the champ loses a big fight, they all go home.
The loser mentally is pervasive. I posted a while back that I think some of it is that some have been on the losing side for so long that it becomes a mindset. They lose the will to win. I LOVE TOM BRADY because he has such an indomitable WILL to WIN.
Republicans at the national level are a failure, have been for decades.
They chose this through inaction.
> So when the going gets tough they get a pass? <
No, not at all. They (pessimistic conservatives) need to be rallied. But name-calling is simply not the best way to do that. Americans - and especially conservative Americans - are an independent breed. We do not respond well to insults. But we often do respond well to reasoned arguments.
Voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil. I owe no politician my vote unless they earn it. Period. Settling is surrender.
Some of us even think boycotts are unfair (Hannity). Well, boycott away! If your workplace goes Wokey McWokerson, look for a new job. If your state is hopelessly left, move before it turns into Mogadishu.
If your bank turns in patriots to the FBI, close your accounts and dump the stock. Get off FB and Twit-Er. Eschew Amazon for websites of businesses actually offering the products you want. Shop local.
If H.R. 127 passes into law, simply ignore it. Etc., etc.
How many times must a woman put up with a cheating husband (or vice versa) (whatever that means) but pays the bills and washes the car before she decides she should find someone who values her?
The context of that was early in his administration when his cabinet was all sitting around discussing how to deal with the Soviet Union. His “We WIN, they LOSE” meant “JUST DO IT, JUST GET IT DONE” . I loved Bill Casey, he was an old school OSS guy, i.e. use every trick in the book to win, all out war on all fronts in every way.
Your country and freedoms are about to be destroyed, maybe for a generation, and you need motivational pep talk or a 500 page position paper on why you should get involved or fight? Huh?
We need focus. We can’t go out individually and attempt to correct this wrong by ourselves. I’m open to suggestions
I’m not quite sure why you are making it personal with the “you” there. I’m not talking about myself. I’m talking about pessimistic conservatives. Anyway, motivational pep talks are valuable even in wartime. And Ike probably didn’t use any insulting language when he was giving a motivational pep talk to these guys.
Us Tareyton smokers would rather fight than switch!
The 101st Airborne DID NOT need a pep talk from Ike. They could not wait to go.
And I was using the royal “you”, not the “you” You. :)
Next time if you don't want to be included, don't say "we", say "they".
I am skeptical of questions about unity and those who are probing FreeRepublic, the assumption is; the 2020 Presidential election was legal and legitimate.
Our present government is unconstitutional and no longer has the consent of the governed. It was a coups d’é·tat.
President Trump must be returned to office before a republic can be restored.
The right answer is never to vote for the likes of Chaney and Sasse. If they are who Republicans put up for election, walk away.
Make no mistake; both Democrats and Republicans have been in on the cheating. The Republican half of the Uniparty can pretend all they want that they oppose the Democrat half but those Republicans who voted for impeachment, including Romney who voted for it TWICE are still "in the party".
Which Republicrat has filed charges against Kamala Harris for fraudulently campaigning for and sitting in the Vice-President's seat when she's not a natural born citizen? Not one Republicrat did it. Not one. They don't represent anyone but themselves.
And Texas always seems to elect the typical left-of-center hack for House Speaker every session. I can’t figure it out.
