Kirk and Spock. One of my favorite old videos with the music of one of my favorite singers. There's so much power in her voice. The scenes are from the old Star Trek movies and the Star Trek remake.
PING to a Trek oldie
The Star Trek movies were always good for a watch. I even liked the Star Trek remake movies. The characters and writing were pretty good. The original Star Trek were fine except for the 1st one which was ridiculous.
I could hardly bring myself to watch Menagerie.
Part 1 of Menagerie was the Pilot. It even had a different actor for Kirk.
I would not judge the whole Star Trek series based on that one. The original series looks pretty dated now but was a bit revolutionary for the times.
Of course I am a history buff and watch old and even silent movies to appreciate the historical aspects. I watched the whole Metropolis film from 1927 which was 2.5 hrs long. Strange stupid movie but revolutionary for its time.
Read later. Star Trek fan, from way back.
Heart and soul Trekker. Followed conventions around the country and Creation Cons used to show my videos in the big auditorium. Unfortunately for my relationship with my fan friends at the time, I’m easy. I found Starsky and Hutch. And that began a whole series of fandoms through which I’m still passing.
Metropolis is one of my favorite movies - both the original and the rock remake. I used one of the songs from that movie for an Alias music video. Here She Comes - Bonnie Tyler.
The special effects and sets were much better on TNG. TOS budget was on such a shoestring they filmed exteriors at a park just outside LA because it was within the mileage limit where they didn't have to pay overtime.
You put together that video? Wow. I will check it out.
What a MARVELOUS Trek story! Absolutely love it!
I loved TNG, but my character was Data.
STTNG - Tapestry - Carole King

STTNG and Camera - God Lives on Terra - Julia Ecklar

I did one more but don’t think I ever upgraded it for online. It was one of those that made the round on VHS tapes. For Ryker.
If you like the ST movies then you might want to try some of the books. There are a few really good authors and many of the stories are well written and complex.
It was the closest to Big Concept Sci Fi, as opposed to space opera, in the ST ouvre, so it remains my favorite. Also the best music of the franchise. "Ilia's Theme" is gorgeous. Speaking of gorgeous, the Enterprise refit was the most beautiful iteration of the Connie class.

I am not a nerd.
I collected them for many years. One of the authors is the singer whose songs I use a lot, Julia Ecklar. She’s multi-talented and I love her work. I’ve been fanwriting since 1984. I got at least 3 different careers from fandom.
Too late...lol
RedLetterMedia did a good review of ST:The Motion Picture.

Hmmmm. But you are truly brilliant with an archive of a memory. So good to see your name again.
Mine, too. Also a great original score.

Late Romanticism and melodic brilliance! If the music at the 3:27 mark doesn't melt your heart, then you have no soul.
Good to see you’re still putting out excellent videos.
