I really enjoyed all the Star Trek movies, though "Star Trek: The Motionless Picture" was probably not my favorite. So very glad Shatner is still around, even though we've lost so many of the other great actors.

The Star Trek movies were always good for a watch. I even liked the Star Trek remake movies. The characters and writing were pretty good. The original Star Trek were fine except for the 1st one which was ridiculous.

I was watching Star Trek TNG when I decided to go back and watch TOS. I was surprised how good the TOS acting was despite Shatner's habitual overacting. The only really good actor on TNG was Picard.

The special effects and sets were much better on TNG. TOS budget was on such a shoestring they filmed exteriors at a park just outside LA because it was within the mileage limit where they didn't have to pay overtime.

If you like the ST movies then you might want to try some of the books. There are a few really good authors and many of the stories are well written and complex.

"Star Trek: The Motionless Picture" was probably not my favorite.

It was the closest to Big Concept Sci Fi, as opposed to space opera, in the ST ouvre, so it remains my favorite. Also the best music of the franchise. "Ilia's Theme" is gorgeous. Speaking of gorgeous, the Enterprise refit was the most beautiful iteration of the Connie class.
