Tried these new seedless lemons for the first time today. Flavor, tartness, and juiciness seem totally on par with regular lemons. And of course really nice not having to deal with seeds!

Article is from November 2019.

I could see merit to a seedless lemon.
Wonder where I buy the tree?

I’m surrounded by lemon trees in my neighborhood, even hanging over my fence.

But they are all those FLORAL Meyer lemons, which also bring a premium price at the market. Not my cup of tea.

I’m reading One Second AFter, about an EMP attack. No seeds, no future fruit in such a situation.

I’ve often wondered why there aren’t seedless grapefruit developed. So many decades after seedless oranges. Must be a good reason.

I mean, you most likely don’t bite into a lemon. The seeds aren’t that big a deal.

And, of course, none of that silliness where people get to use seeds to grow their own lemon trees.

Flavor, tartness, and juiciness seem totally on par with regular lemons.

That's good, because seedless watermelons taste like they were peeled and soaked in water for two days.

Ok, you may have tried them and say you taste no difference.
But I would point out to you that not all people “taste” the same and GOD FORBID that what happened to grapefruit happens to lemons!

I know about grapefruit. DUNCAN GRAPEFRUIT, the most delectable, tangy, tarty sweetness of a Duncan Grapefruit is impossible to imagine unless you’ve had it before.

Duncan (or WHITE GRAPEFRUIT is the first kind of Grapefruit imported and grown in America, the sweetness is indescribable, but the seed content is off the charts, I gave two trees that started from seeds last year. Because of the seeds, it was slowly, at first supplanted by seedless varieties and is now pretty much a taste of people’s childhood.

The new normal is the red seedless grapefruit, on my list of grapefruit varieties they don’t even rate a 1.

Duncan grapefruit does have it’s fans, however, Trees have been planted and orchards have been blooming, owing to the large size of the fruit and the trees that bear them it will be YEARS before you can walk into a supermarket and buy a simple Duncan Grapefruit.

Americans are such wimps. Nothing wrong with seeds. No one likes seeds, why? Seeds in fruits are fine. They serve as natural roughage and a gut cleanser preventing diverticulosis among other gut problems. Fiber is good for you. Seedless grapes, oranges, watermelons, and on and on. I’ll take a red globe over a Thompson seedless anytime.

#1. Should be named the “Don Seedless Lemon”. You can suck it for flavor, tartness and juiciness as Yardstick wrote.

Oh am I bad tonight!

I hate when a seed gets in my lemonade and I have to throw out the whole batch.
