Televised sports have been on the decline far longer then the owners and broadcasters want to let on. The kneeling for fraud was downstream from the point of no return.

Since the NFL couldn't sell games to viewers to sell viewers to advertisers, they resorted to selling controversy instead. It's nothing new; it happened with Vaudeville too.

Super Bowl Sunday is actually a very enjoyable day. Depending on one's religious beliefs, trips to normally crowded destinations not involved with the game, shopping etc. are very salutary. The trick is, of course, to avoid the childish display and the sheeple it attracts.
