Areas of Minnesota and Iowa will likely get so cold that it could be unsafe for children to leave home and attend school. How did we ever make it to the moon?

“Alaska always has below freezing nights, 12 months of the year.”
It didn’t during the 20 years I lived there.

I was in SW Michigan 3 years and 4 weeks ago for five days. Nightly lows were single digits near zero and highs of twelve or so with three days of lake-effect snow following two solid days of storm snow. Same place next week will be four degrees warmer approximately with same weather. It’s winter in the Great Lakes.

Lawyers.
No one wants any risk.
And people are less self sufficient today.
Here in Iowa I’m reminding younger folks to make sure their battery terminals are clean and keep gas in he car .
Basic maintenance that isn’t as widely know as it should be

It was a two bedroom hunting cabin....master bedroom, second bedroom bunk beds slept 6. Full kitchen. Front and back porch...and double car garage. Living room and billiard area was all open and surrounded with picture windows. Rotary Club would have their steak cook outs up there and company outings as well.. always fun. And nestled way back into the mountain. Road you ended up on was dirt.

Maybe the temp drop will be severe enough make the C and F degree read equal. Anybody know what that temperature is? 40 below.
F = (9/5) C + 32
-40 = -(9/5)*40 + 32
-40 = -(9*40/5) + 32
-40 = -(9*8) + 32
-40 = -72 +32
-40 = -40
I've never experienced it, coldest I dealt with was -28 F in Minneapolis.

Find Paul Neuman’s Movie Quintet. Here in PA the forecast for next week goes to 19. I rode my bike to work in 7 degrees. It was tough but i did it. 19 isn’t really cold. The summer job at the ice Cream factory had 2 huge fans in the roller bed and the freezer was 10 degrees. That was cold.

Great weather for blowing soap bubbles. When the bubbles touch the ground they can shatter, or if there’s some wind, they might roll great distances.
