Oscar-, Tony- and Emmy-winning actor Christopher Plummer has passed away. He was 91.

The legendary actor passed peacefully at his home in Connecticut, with his wife Elaine Taylor, by his side, the Post confirmed on Friday.

“Chris was an extraordinary man who deeply loved and respected his profession with great old fashion manners, self deprecating humor and the music of words,” his manager and friend Lou Pitt said. “He was a National Treasure who deeply relished his Canadian roots. Through his art and humanity, he touched all of our hearts and his legendary life will endure for all generations to come. He will forever be with us.”

He sure is. And he hated his role as Georg Von Trapp, during and after filming. It’s his most famous role, by far, however.

How ironic. His most famous role is a role he didn’t like.

I know nothing about his politics.

But I saw a lot of movies where he seemed typecast as a villain, but...was very good at those roles!

RIP.

How long ago did he get the vaccine?

What is the primary cause of death? (I’ll venture a wild guess that old age was the secondary cause)

Why did he hate it?

There was a Spike Lee movie where he plaid an ex-Nazi head of a bank. I thought Spike Lee did it deliberately to imply Von Trapp was a Nazi.

Plummer was absolutely superb as J. Paul Getty a few years ago in ‘All the Money in the World.’ In fact it was one of the amazing performances I’ve ever seen. The film was already finished and in the can with Kevin Spacey in the Getty role. The decision was made the last minute to eliminate Spacey and re-shoot the Getty scenes with Plummer over the course of a few days. When I first heard they were doing it, I assumed that Getty was in only a handful of scenes and this was a quickie fix. Nope. He was practically the lead in the movie. Amazing.

He was very good as evil Uncle Ralp in the 2002 BBC Nicholas Nickleby, and was outstanding playing a Nazi in “The Scarlet and the Black” (and excellent movie).

Yep, that is what he will always be to me, he was superb, 6 had David Warner and him in the same movie. 2nd best Star Trek film after TWOK.
