What would they do if they discovered the best food for dogs was cat meat?

Kibble came about during WWII due to a shortage of tin for canned dog food. It was cheap and easy for dog owners and the big dog food companies could mass produce it. It was never good for your pet.

Well, the ideal diet for a canine is meat, sinew, bones, guts, maybe a bit of fur for dietary fiber, all served raw, once every few days. But they’re dogs, they’ll eat whatever the hell smells good, and a lot of what doesn’t smell good too.

That affectionate doggie look in their eyes ain’t saying what you think it is saying???

That’s Fido’s way of saying ‘I need to poop.’

My sister had a poodle, and fed it cooked meat and lunchmeat, and it developed Pancreatitis.

salty, fatty prepared lunchmeats are no good and cooked meat should be low fat, cooked with grease drained. I have great luck with pork sirloin chops, boiled chicken breast with rice/pasta for some carbs, lean ground beef 90%+ lean and any beef trimmed, steak or roast. Their hair looks great, teeth strong with minimal tarter and energetic. No spices or add ins, just the meat and minimal carbs.

Our good ol’ Tucker (mixed breed rescue) turned 14 yesterday.

We’ve been feeding him chicken and rice. We buy the cheapest chicken (leg quarters are about 69 cents a pound) and cook some rice every few days.

He’s been eating this for months. He’s an old dog, but he feels good and is fairly active. Hips are sort of shot, but he gets around OK.

Bison based cuts poop size in half. It’s much easier to pick too. It’s it self destruct quickly too.

I have been a dog owner for over 50 years and always fed my dogs table scraps. Just like my parents and grandparents before me. The dogs love it and have never suffered any repercussions.

THANK YOU! :) I thought I was the only one who did this. My grandmother kept two dogs at all times to handle garbage (that is, leftovers) and I got it from her. So far, I only lost one young, but that was a birth-defect; the rest make it 15-19 without a problem.

On the flip side, when I have dogs around I notice I eat better. lol

My greyhound ate a whole raw chicken once, bones and all. I turned away for a second and it was gone. Then I saw her in the backyard wolfing it down with gusto. She also takes birds on the wing and disappears them.

We feed the ground beef and rice bland diet when they’re recovering from illness or injury, but they would happily eat it every day...

I add glucosamine/chondritin/MSM supplement for the older dogs and drastically improved their quality of life.

I would love to figure out the best way to put my dog and cats on a raw diet.

Check the diet of wolfdogs. They get raw meat blended with vegetables. Looks very delice...

Dog food is recommended by some as a good survival food in an, “abandon ship” / lifeboat scenario. It will keep you alive and you won’t want to eat it all at once. With the democrats taking over it may become normal and routine.
