How does a 2 year “slip” away from mom?
Are you kidding me? VERY EASILY. Remember those tot leashes that used to be so common? There was (and still is) a good reason for those.
Near a subway train, criminal negligence on the part of the mom.
Last time I rode it was at the Olympics. But given that Atlanta is Atlanta, it doesn’t hurt to be careful.
Living near the rail yards in KS City, KS. You become very aware that RR vehicles DO NOT stop on a dime and do not give change. They seem to go forever and ever when stopping and they weigh in at thousands of pounds.
Another negligent "mother" trying to project the blame for her child's death on someone else===>she smells a Big Payday.
At least this poor black child won’t have to face being shot to death by a racist cop or grow up in an America that is apparently filled to the brim with white supremacists. /s
Since when do NYC subways have conductors? Not for years.
Somebody is looking for a big Payday, and I don’t mean the candy bar.
I guess the “Ride With Respect” ad campaign worked.
It takes a village to raise a child. It is the village’s fault someone didn’t stop the child. /s
More likely was that the woman was on her phone
“How does a 2 year “slip” away from mom?”
No kidding. I’d have a grip on that kids hand so hard his blood flow would stop. We were in DC when it was not a riot infested town about 16 years ago with the kids. I never let go of their arm as we walked thru the transit station. Stayed far away from some of those weirdo’s walking down near the tracks.
The Train Operator will have to live with this experience the rest of his Life.
He should be suing the Idiotic Mother.
You can find photos and videos from train stations like those in Tokyo where the train platforms are completely guarded from the open pits where the tracks lie. The train pulls in and the large steel and plexiglass doors between the platform and the train open at the same time the doors on the train open. You walk through both sets of doors to get inside the train.
New York City, running on 1800s infrastructure, doesn't have the room to install such standard equipment.
“Opened up the clothing carousel and voila!”
What happened next? You both had a good laugh and you said “Don’t you do that again!” Or a good swat on the rear? Or “Wait until we get home and your father gets home!”?
Greedy plaintiff lawyers are a blight on society.
Not saying that’s the case here.
When I went to Ireland in ‘72, every mom with a toddler had them on a leather harness with a leash attached. Those kids were not going to slip away.
I bought one to bring home to use on my toddler.
Oh, the looks I got from other shoppers at the mall!
