My wife describes her needle arts addiction as her “pointy object fetish.”

LOL!

Well, it probably keeps her out of the bars, so there’s that! :)

But not out of the needle-point shops, the quilt shops, the fabric stores, the cross stitch shops and the yarn shops. And Jo Anne’s, Hobby Lobby, and the Bernina Stores.

I have to confess I am the world’s biggest enabler.

I’m happy for you (seriously)! My crochet/knitting ‘life’ has not been the same since the AC Moore 5 minutes away closed .... don’t like Michael’s so much & they’re farther away. JoAnn’s is even more of a drive. AC Moore spoiled me & they had great coupons, too.

I’ve never heard of AC Moore, and I hate Joann’s. My fabric stash is huge — some of it inherited — so I rarely NEED to shop for fabric. If I need something specific I’ll get it, and usually online.

I’m just now coming out of the two-month state of shock and starting to focus on sewing/quilting again.

We took a vacation to a cabin on the Boundary Waters at the northern edge of Minnesota. The day we left I decided to take her copy of the Quilters Companion guidebook and try to drive to as many quilt shops in the northern half of Minnesota as we could in one day. We hit ten and drove for twelve hours.

I have been to the farthest east needle arts destination in North America and I live in Phoenix.

I love making new baby gifts .
Uses up fabric remnants from your sewing projects.

Just take a baby blanket and turn into a cozy quilt
by applying squares of fabric---print and plain.

Outline squares w/ ready-made yardage of fluffy chenille.

I seem to have been (1) lazy (2) working on other (non sewing-related) stuff (3) kind of in hibernation mode (4) depressed about the election, the fact that the results were left to stand, and we are all being called domestic terrorists now.

That said, I got a $20 Target gift card for Christmas (otherwise would never go to Target), and bought these hanging, 3-shelf cubbie organizer things like this: https://www.target.com/p/3-shelf-hanging-closet-organizer-gray-room-essentials-8482/-/A-50387876#lnk=sametab

I will use these to (when I feel like working on it any more LOL) sort and better organize my fabrics “stash”. I don’t really have a huge amount, but it is not organized now, is sort of broken up into 3 different places, and I just feel I can and should do better with the storage issue. These are hanging in the designated closet (for a could weeks now), waiting for my next move. I even cut some gift boxes up to provide thin cardboard stabilizer in the bottom of each shelf.

So I HAVE made some progress, right?

That is for a COUPLE weeks now (not “could” weeks)…. must proof-read more carefully.

Hi, Gang!

Mainly I’ve been working on stash-busting and making 7” crocheted squares to send to ‘Warm Up America’ where other crafters make the donated squares into afghan blankets for whoever needs them.

I have three lap quilts done, and am waiting for Covid to settle down some more, then will take them to my Dad’s former Nursing Facility to donate.

I have my quilt done for the next County Fair, but I like that pattern so much I want to make another one.

Today I am nursing Beau through a bout with Kidney Stones. Ouch! He hasn’t passed it yet, and is actually feeling OK, though is napping right now. He has his meds at the ready!

We finished the new flooring in the Family Room and it looks great! Luxury Vinyl Tile that looks like wood. Our Foster Son did the flooring and is still temporarily unemployed so he’s coming to help me put the furniture back where it belongs this week. The snow storm and Beau being sick has delayed things, though I did get all of the woodwork and the baseboards washed, which was much needed.

And that’s my story and I’m sticking to it! ;)

I just turned my machine in to the hospital as it suddenly began choking on itself. Normally I makes baby dresses with it.

Knitting my “Emma” pullover sweater in a pink linen yarn I love. Wish I could figure out how to post pictures so y’all could see.

Needle pointing the years long sampler for my last daughter, they all got one, this is ambitious full coverage.

Drank my coffee. Ate my chocolate.

Mm we must not despair but be productive and positive. We only lose when we surrender. I have not yet begun to fight.

“Drank my coffee. Ate my chocolate.”

Drank my coffee. Ate my ice cream (root beer and vanilla float). Gotta cut some strips now. :)

that is very clever. I could see that working too in a free form style like a crazy quilt but with curvy lines.
