One of the main reason democratic countries have lockdowns is that politicians think they need them to get elected. In other words, more than half the people are in favor of them.
How do we, as a society, create such weak people? How do so many cowards exist? And how do so many people not understand that freedom is good?
To answer the questions above, weak people come from failing to provide stories of bravery and heroism in the hone and in school. Instead our children read stories of two male frogs who get married to each other. And why do people not understand that freedom is good? I was going to also blame our education system but that is too simple. We are just soft mentally right now as good times bring about weak men.

Wow...looks like a heavy book based on Wikipedia, but one that might enlighten me as to why people reject freedom.
We studied that in college in the early 80s.
What course would include that book?
My major was Political Science. Even if back then most UPR College of Social Sciences professors were Marxists, different or alternative courses were mandatory. There was such thing as universal education, and we studied every kind of political system and philosophies.
