OUR WASHINGTON DISPATCHES.

WASHINGTON, Wednesday, Jan. 30.

THE MISSION OF THE BROOKLYN.

The commander of the Brooklyn is ordered to land supplies at Fort Pickens; then to lay off, and closely watch the movements of the State troops.

If he perceives any purpose to attack the Fort, or any preparations therefor, he is to land his artillerymen and bring his own guns to bear in defence of the post.

This I take from a copy of the official orders.

Intense anxiety prevails at the President's House to hear from Pensacola, as an immediate collision is apprehended.

GEN. SCOTT AND THE PRESIDENT.

Rumor says there is a serious disagreement between Gen. SCOTT and the President, growing out of movements at Fort Monroe. The President professes to be exceedingly annoyed and much mortified at the turning of the guns of this fortress inland, just at the time he was complimenting the loyalty of the ancient Commonwealth in his Special Message to Congress. While I give this rumor I can't vouch for its accuracy. A telegram from Richmond says the Legislature will appoint a Committee of inquiry to examine into and report the facts.

DISPATCHES FOR COL. HAYNE.

A messenger from South Carolina arrived here this afternoon with dispatches for Col. HAYNE, but their exact character has not transpired. If the instructions be to demand the surrender of Fort Sumter, Col. HAYNE says his mission will be soon terminated, as he has no idea that the demand will be granted. The President has agreed to communicate the facts to Congress whenever he is ready to move in the matter.

Good afternoon Professor.

Have you seen pictures of the Capital and DC recently?

Kinda looks like the “Green Zone” in Baghdad. Or the U.S. Capital after the battle of Bull Run...

Just sayin
