January 20th is past, and Joe Biden, not Donald Trump, is the President of the United States. To all those who prophesied that Trump would serve a second consecutive term and assured us that he would be inaugurated on the 20th, I appeal to you in the strongest possible terms: admit your error, take full responsibility, and do not, under any circumstances, continue to put a false hope into the hearts of God’s people.
What you prophesied did not come to pass.
There is not an alternative, spiritual reality in which Trump is still functioning as president.
Nothing is going to change in a month or a year.
It’s over.
Even if there was massive electoral fraud, the results of this election will not be overturned.
Donald Trump will not serve a second, consecutive term.
Face the facts, be accountable before God and man, take the hits that will be coming, and humble yourself before the Lord and His people.
This is not the time for excuses. This is not the time to concoct spiritual myths. And this is absolutely not the time to blame others.
If you prophesied falsely, you and you alone are to blame.
Maybe you did not intend to mislead.
Maybe you were acting in sincerity and integrity, truly believing the Lord had spoken and doing your best to stand firm in faith no matter what. After all, you thought to yourself, isn’t that what faith does?
Maybe you were so grieved over where the radical left was going that you prophesied what you desired, namely, the reelection of Trump.
Maybe you sensed God’s intent, namely that if Trump would repent of his pride and the church would repent of looking to him in an idolatrous way, God would give him four more years.
Maybe you got caught up in the power of the group, finding affirmation in others saying the same things.
Maybe you prophesied what your people wanted to hear, subconsciously tickling their itching ears.
Maybe you got caught up in a partisan political spirit.
Maybe you looked to Trump as a political messiah and God answered you out of the idolatry of your own heart.
Or maybe you fell prey to demonic deception.
Whatever the cause, you prophesied falsely, and now you need to own it. The last thing you should do is feel sorry for yourself and claim that you are being persecuted. Quite the contrary. The reality is that you have misled many.
As a result of your false prophecies, many believers are experiencing a crisis of faith right now. Who will be there to pick up the pieces?
After all, they wonder, how could all the prophets be wrong? (To the extent that you urged your hearers to hold on to the very end, to that extent you are responsible for bringing them to this point of crisis.)
Worse still, some of you issued prophetic threats to those who questioned your words, telling them they had to “believe the prophets” or else. And you did this while claiming to speak directly for God.
The Lord does not take it lightly when His people are abused like this. He will hold you responsible for misrepresenting Him.
So many of God’s people are hurting, and the world is mocking us, thinking that our faith in Jesus is just as false as these failed Trump prophecies.
One young man posted online that he had been telling his family, none of whom were believers, that Trump would be reelected, based on the words of the prophets. He thought it would glorify the Lord when Trump was miraculously inaugurated. Now, he said, he doesn’t think he can ever talk to them about the Lord again.
Do we realize the damage that has been done?
One woman who falsely claims to be a prophet said that God has been making a list, noting who is listening to the prophets and who is not. Those who are not, she warns – claiming to speak for the Lord – will lose their voice and their ministries.
This is deep deception and serious spiritual manipulation.
If God is making a list it is a list of those who misled His sheep. A list of those who threatened His children if they failed to “believe the prophets.” A list of those who brought dishonor to the name of His Son.
Now is the time to repent, openly, publicly, and forthrightly.
Now is the time to find accountability from other leaders in the Body who did not fall into this same error.
Now is the time for some serious soul-searching.
It’s what the Bible calls bringing forth fruits worthy of repentance. This is no small thing.
If you continue to prophesy falsehoods and assure your followers that Biden will soon be replaced by Trump (and I don’t mean in 2024), I warn you that you are moving into complete spiritual fantasy and leading others with you. Careful!
The reality is that I’m writing all this as a charismatic leader rather than as a charismatic basher, as a proponent of prophetic ministry rather than as an opponent. I’m writing as a friend, not an enemy.
In fact, it is a holy jealousy that drives me – jealousy for the honor of Jesus’ name, jealousy for the health of His flock, and jealousy for the purity of prophetic ministry.
I also write out of a holy jealousy for your own ministry and calling.
All of us can make mistakes, even serious ones like this. Our God is a God of forgiveness, and redemption is the central message of our faith. You can come out of this closer to Jesus, deeper in the Word, godlier in character, and more in tune with the Spirit. And to the depth of your humility, to that degree the Lord will restore and rebuild.
But please, I appeal to you again.
Don’t blame others. Don’t make excuses. And don’t perpetuate any further spiritual fantasy. It’s over.
Now, what are you going to do?

First there is no new revelation. There are no present day prophets …
Where does it say that in the Bible? Deuteronomy 18:22 says that the test of whether a prophet is true or false is if a prophecy comes to pass or not, regardless of specific days/dates.
FWICS, the only one who lays claim to 100 percent precision is the Father, and specific days are His secret alone (Matthew 23:46, Mark 13:32).

I think that's true, unfortunately, they've sucked a whole group of people into buying their scam by telling them exactly what they want to hear.
One thing I've heard is: a false prophet is evil and deliberately malicious. Therefore, a well-meaning "prophet" who merely makes a mistake can still be help out as a prophet.
That's absurd - you're either prophetic or your not. You can be a very nice guy, but also not be the prophet you think you are. Once you refuse to accept that, then you become dangerous in the false prophet sense.
As far as those changing their "prophesy" from "January 20, 2021" to "some time in the future," those are like the people who predict the end of the world on a certain day, then when it doesn't happen, just shift that day further down the road.
At some point you've got to take the red pill and get off the magical thinking.
Oh boy, here we go with another person cherrypicking that one verse and using it as "THE STANDARD". To me that just shows ignorance and no real understanding of judging prophets and prophecy.
Isaiah was one of the greatest prophets in the old Testament, the prophet that gave the most prophecies about the coming Messiah, the prophet that the Messiah himself quoted.
Isaiah prophesied to King Hezekiah "Thus says the Lord: Set your house in order, for you shall die, you shall not recover.". No conditionality to that word. Hezekiah DID NOT DIE, the prophecy DID NOT come to pass. Should Isaiah be stoned to death? Was he a false prohet?
I call this the "Cherry Picker's Isaiah problem".
Admitting to error when one is innocent is either a

Actually, it's what he did say that troubles me.
The questioner stated this: "We have a problem in this country. It's called Muslims. You know our current president is one. You know he's not even an American. But anyway, we have training camps growing where they want to kill us. That's my question. When can we get rid of 'em?"
In response, Trump did not address: 1) the charge that Muslims in general are the problem; 2) the charge that President Obama is a Muslim; or 3) the charge that the president is not an American.

This entire fiasco is a direct result of believing there ARE modern-day prophets... Sola scriptura, or not?
I believe Satan is active, and pushing the Church out, marginalizing Christians, and increasing his legion of souls.
How many times, as Christians, have we been told: "Don't worry, God's in control, let things happen, and sow peace." It's like Q telling us to sit back, things are happening behind the scenes that we don't even know.
The liberal churches aren't being told to sit back, God's in control - no, they're out there as active as ever, using lies and deceit to guide people away from Christ and the Kingdom, into the realm of self and mammon. As a result, they are winning souls at a terrific rate.
Yes, God is in control. But if you want him to move a mountain, you'd better be willing to grab a shovel.

i think a sure fire way to tell if one is a false prophet is not by what they say but by how they live. A person who claims to be devout and a prophet but obviously puts a great deal of importance on acquiring worldly possessions and living the good life is not a follower of Jesus and does not know Him, IMHO.

Indeed, you refer to a conditional prophecy when it comes to Hezekiah; and so many prophecies are and were conditional. (Although interestingly enough, Hezekiah did die after the additional fifteen years . . .)
Exactly what I said. Nothing in the passage indicates any specific date for a prophecy to occur.

Fools like Brown think God only chooses pious saints to implement His Will and Purposes when IN FACT God Himself said that He will choose ANYONE HE WANTS TO. PERIOD. There are so many examples of this in Scripture why should anyone be confused about that?

Yes there was a condition, that being repentance. Otherwise, Hezekiah would not have had his life extended by 15 years.
I think that's how you might tell a Christian, but that doesn't necessarily determine whether they would be a prophet. To wit: A fellow could be a great Christian, but a lousy prophet.
Consider The Gifts. Are all Christians healers? Does the inability to heal (or have knowledge, perform miracles, speak in tongues,) preclude whether someone lives like a Christian?
