It’s getting increasingly harder to tell.
There were not and are not two presidents at once. Biden took the oath before Trump’s term expired so that at 12:00 there would be a president. However, technically, the swearing in is only a formality and not a constitutional requirement.
For example, the moment JFK died, LBJ became president. There was no requirement for LBJ to be sworn in on Air Force 1 and there was not a second that we did not have a president.

It is only a matter of coronation, a simple ceremony, to convince much of the public that this is, after all, the way things should aspire to. It is a matter of consolidating power with the correct persons.

Trump’s term did indeed expire at noon on January 20th as the Constitution states. Biden took the oath as required. He is President. Had Biden or Harris not been able to take the oath, Nancy Pelosi would have been acting President.

At least my Serbian Orthodox Priest omits to pray for the President in the Liturgy. (He did pray for Trump when he had covid.) I will happily follow his practice (for the first time) when I am there. When I am in my OCA parish, I shall refrain to pray for the president. After all, when the Priest does so, he cannot know what he is doing!!!!
