Rep. Nancy Mace: There Was a Bipartisan Effort to Look at Censuring Trump, But Pelosi Wouldn’t Allow It (IMPEACHMENT HELD HOSTAGE - DAY 32)

(CNSNews.com) – Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) told NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday that there was a “bicameral, bipartisan effort” to look at censuring President Donald Trump, which she said would hold him accountable and prohibit him from holding office again, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) wouldn’t bring it up for a vote.

“Well, one of the things, one of the options that was on the table last week when we were going through the impeachment, getting up to D.C. for that, was that there was a bicameral, bipartisan effort to look at censure as an option. That would one, hold the president accountable for his words and his actions and two, also prohibit from holding office again in the future,” she said.

“Unfortunately, the speaker wouldn't let us bring it up for debate or bring it up for a vote. There were measures, there were folks in place in both chambers, in both parties, that were willing to do that and go that far, but unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity at all last week,” the congresswoman said.

Mace, who voted against impeaching the president, said she’s concerned like Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) is that more facts will come to light in the future and it will put her on the wrong side of the debate.

Jeez... she’s already proving to be a disappointment and a cowardly weakling. That didn’t take long.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of Republican politicians are some of the weakest gutless cowards on earth.

This is an elected congressional representative and she says censure would prevent President Trump from running for office in the future. Is she really this dumb or does she thing her audience is.

I’m in SC within this district and I have severe buyer’s remorse. I should’ve just voted for Joe Cunningham (D). At least with him, I knew what I would get. These damn country clubber republican types, rinos, gopers, etc. can all go pound sand and I’m being nice in saying it that way.

I've never heard that a vote of censure would allow Congress to prohibit the censured person from holding office in the future. Did they just make that up?

What would be needed for a vote of censure? A simple majority in the House and 60 votes in the Senate?

Mace better hope that the true story of what happened on Jan. 6 continues to be buried--she will look like a fool and her Republican colleagues who voted for impeachment as the scum that they are.

Establishment Republicans are so weak and craven. Look at the difference of how Democrats act when they are impeached or when they have let American embassy get overthrown and blamed it on a YouTube video? They close ranks, they stay united and they win.

I intend to vote for NO incumbant Republican. I won’t vote for a Dem, but until the party gets rid of the vermin they’ve been sheltering, they’ll get no more votes from me.. and I’ve voted for everyone, straight ticket since Nixon was in office. I won’t be participating in any primaries, because the first of the year I changed my registration to “independant”. At this point, I think the faster this country decends into civil war, the quicker we’ll get this shit fixed.

Thank you for speaking up. Too often, people vote for these RINOs and then come on sites like this and remain silent.

Boy - I don’t get some of these replies/arguments - if she voted against impeaching the president, how does that stab the president in the back?
