I remember hearing SOB for the first time. It was during a M*A*S*H scene when Hawkeye for all intents-and-purposes defended the enemy and called a South Korean the word. SOB is tame now. Then again, contemporary TV shows have minimal interest to me.

Agree. I saw the show and you’re correct. I thought the show was pretty good. And yeah, it doesn’t hurt to let the wife enjoy some eye candy for once.

Hoo boy, that was a mistake eh? This is your stereotypical female friendly steamy romance novel along the lines of those that had Fabio on the cover back in the 80s. At least they warned you that it contained “smoking” at the beginning.

Agree. The implication that there are “hard core” sex scenes is meant to draw curious viewers. There are none that I would consider “hard core”. And nothing worse than I’ve seen in dozens of other shows like The Tudors, Vikings, The Borgias, Rome, etc.

Yes. But is a make-believe London with a make-believe Queen and a make-believe King etc. Its as make-believe as Star Wars. They barely touch on race. I didn’t find it to be a bad story. It’s just a female-friendly fantasy romance novel set to film.

My wife is from Cheltenham, which is a short train ride from Bath. We were watching it to see if we noticed any landmarks. Strange is about the politest word I could use to describe it. Soft core porn wouldn’t even make the list.

I wouldn't disagree with that characterization. It is certainly not the world we live in, or ever lived in for that matter. It's sort of like a parallel universe world...perhaps bordering on sci-fi in a way.

Exactly. Not that long ago, a show like this would have just been called exactly what it is - a porno. Now it is just "Bridgerton."
