Korean military drama (16 episodes) of the relationship and conflicts between a Special Forces Captain and a medical doctor. Patriotic and morally uplifting. The star, Song Joong Ki, had just finished his two years military service when he made this drama.
And my VERY favorite actor, Song Joong Ki, who was married for several years to his co-star in this movie, Song Hye Kyo. He was also in Sungkyunkwan Scandal as one of the four main students.
YouTube is starting to block my Sungkyunkwan Scandal videos, including the one I did for that drama to this song. But you can find all the videos on my website from my Asian Drama page.
PING to a South Korean military drama music video
Great series.
Agreed! It has a 9.8 out of 10 rating on viki.com
Descendants of the Sun OST for the music from the drama series:

Once the virus is over, things are at the point where my wife and I are probably going to move to South Korea, Japan or Taiwan. We have spent time in all 3 countries before. Things are just getting too crazy in America as it’s turning into a police state. We have a lot of friends in Korea, my wife has relatives in Japan and we also have friends there.
She speaks Japanese and Korean, I understand both (to some extent) although I can’t speak. I also know some Mandarin.
You are both absolutely amazing. I studied Russian and French and both instructors would cringe whenever I opened my mouth.
These dramas remind me of America in the 1950’s and they all have a vitality and excitement and love of their country’s people to be a more hopeful place to live than what is going to happen to our experiment of a Republic in these coming years. Hope your plans work out wonderfully.
How wonderful! I had no idea there were albums connected with the dramas. Is that common and is there a search term that’s right to use?
good show... You all see “Search” yet? I give 8 1/2 - 9 Stars...

Hadn’t come across it yet. But sniffer dogs in the military sounds good.

Yong Dong Jin (Jang Dong Yoon) is a conscript sergeant in the South Korean armed forces. He is also the military’s leading sniffer dog handler and is just one month away from receiving his long-awaited discharge.
But with just weeks to go until he can rejoin the civilian world, a mysterious case threatens to suck him into a long, troublesome intrigue.
In the demilitarized zone (DMZ), the area between North and South Korea, a suspected murder in bizarre circumstances piques the arm’s attention.
The army leaders decide to form an elite search party to scour the DMZ for clues, enlisting Yong Dong Jin and his keen-nosed dogs. Also joining the team will be Son Ye Rim (Krystal Jung), a relatively green but highly promising soldier who received much of her training in the United States.
However, as the party begins to investigate, its members quickly begin to realize that whatever it is they are hunting does not appear to be human.
Yes you can find a number of the “original sound tracks” on YouTube. Just search the drama name and sound track or something like that on YouTube. Two good soundtracks on Youtube are for Goblin and Legend of the Blue Sea. Some of these dramas put a lot of effort and money into the music, and there are big-name artists performing them. Here’s a recording of one of the theme songs to Goblin from Punch, for example, https://www.yesasia.com/us/korean-music-soundtrack/0-0-95-bpt.46-en/list.html. And here is “Beautiful Life.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0cs6ciCt_k
A lot of the dramas come out with their own CD OST albums and related promotional material. You can find a lot of these on YesAsia.com. Go to the site then to Korea, then to music, then to soundrack/OSTs. It’s a little hard to navigate at first, but here’s a direct link: https://www.yesasia.com/us/korean-music-soundtrack/0-0-95-bpt.46-en/list.html
This is a large and legit company which sells legal merchandise, not bootlegs. The only difficult thing is shipping costs have gone through the roof, they mainly ship from Hong Kong / Shenzen, but because of all the trade tensions I think they have to route their shipments through Europe by DHX (they used to use ChinaPost). Shipping used to be something like $7-9, but I think the last one I paid was something like $27, so it is becoming cost prohibitive for some people is my guess.
재미있게
Sorry here’s the Punch song from Goblin I had meant to link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcKR0LPwoYs
