(KUTV) — (UPDATE 12/24/20) -- Bizarre new details are emerging in a disturbing Utah County case involving a man accused of shooting his mother in the neck with a shotgun at the dinner table before dancing with his 14-year-old sister after their mother was dead.

That's all according to a probable cause statement obtained by 2News which shows one aggravated murder charge against 23-year-old Michael Lopez.

On Wednesday evening, police say 43-year-old Victoria Ramirez and her two daughters were gathering to eat at the dinner table in their Springville, Utah home when Lopez walked in with a shotgun.

As Lopez pointed the shotgun at his mother, he looked at his 14-year-old sister, and the pair exchanged head nods.

Ramirez reportedly said: I know you're going to kill me."

The 14-year-old got out of her chair at the dinner table and walked to the bathroom.

Believing the gun was not loaded, the 17-year-old went to the bathroom to check on her sister. She told police that she turned around just in time to witness Lopez shoot their mother in the neck, killing her.

The 17-year-old told police that Lopez then grabbed their 14-year-old sister and the two began dancing. This is when the 17-year-old locked herself in the bathroom and escaped through the window and called her adult sister, who contacted police.

The 17-year-old also told police that she believes her younger sister knew what was going to happen, saying Lopez bought the shotgun and a handgun the day before. Lopez had also been supplying his 14-year-old sister with marijuana.(snip)

When police arrived, they found Lopez in the basement bathtub, without any apparent injuries. He was being unresponsive and was taken to the hospital, where doctors informed police they believed Lopez was faking it.

Marry Wanna. I knew it. That Reefer Madness movie explained it all. You get high on dope and the next thing you know, you'll be shooting Mama in the neck at the dinner table and dancing with your 14 year old sister.

Some weird stuff always seems to happen in Springville, UT. This is not the first bizarre incident to happen there. Lots of mlm companies located right near there too. The crazies congregate in the same pews I guess.

If Lopez smoked enough to induce Psychosis or if the pot was laced with something, one doesn’t know what a person will do. I suspect that may be part of his defense in the trial.
