Has anybody else found their comments on articles at conservative news sites being blocked since last week?
First it was BB that was blocking all my comments, with that "Hold on there, awaiting moderation" thing that comes up. Well, just now, a comment did post for me there. Maybe they have a bunch of key words that trigger the block. But none of my past comments was particularly incendiary or in any way advocated violence.
Then, today, DC blocked one of my comments on an article about a woman being charged over taking a teen out of the US for genital mutilation. I only said that I agreed that she should be charged for that, "but it is similarly child abuse to mutilate teens or give them puberty blocking drugs because they think they are, or should be, of the opposite sex."
I don't see what is so bad about that comment that it should be blocked. What have you seen?
Not new. Liberal sites have been doing this for years. It got too ugly I guess.
Some overly upset conservatives and some liberal trolls have been posting inflammatory and violent comments.
Either the conservative sites have to hire a bunch more people to review comments, or they have to limit/stop comments altogether.

hey drama queen, they’re NOT blocking you. You are not the center of the comment universe. They’re REVIEWING your comments. Even LAT and websites do that due to the nature of the climate nowadays and BB has the right to do that due to the many trolls who now go on the attack there. This must be the 20th Breitbart “they block my comments” crybaby thread in the past week..
Well, the problem with that notion is that there are hundreds of comments at the sites I’m talking about and lots of them are much more inflammatory than mine that have been blocked. It’s weird.
Probably the words “child abuse” got it flagged as a possible “Q” post if I had to guess.

Why would Bridget Bardot block your comments?
They and other conservatives sites know the long knifes are out and don't want to be de-platformed from their servers.
“This must be the 20th Breitbart “they block my comments” crybaby thread in the past week..”
Duh. Do you realize you just gave support to the argument that their scrutiny of comments has ramped up since last week? BB has never blocked one of my comments until after last week. And then when it also started happening at DC, I wondered if some list has been circulated of commenters to be blocked.
“Q” has to be the most overhyped (love and hated) story of the year.
What a joke—media left and right are _way_ overplaying a nothingburger imho.
I have noticed that Disqus (the software that Breitbart and others use for their comment section) has been moderating heavily against conservative comments. Pathetic.
“Probably the words “child abuse” got it flagged as a possible “Q” post if I had to guess.”
But, the words, “child abuse”, are prominently in the article itself. From the article:
“Female genital mutilation is child abuse,”
So, if that is okay for the article, why is it not allowed in the comments?
You’re just paranoid. You also have to look into the payless and thankless job the mods have to cope with when moderating the threads, including BB. I’m in one of the more pro-Trump sites on the web and it takes time to zot the trolls.
“I have noticed that Disqus (the software that Breitbart and others use for their comment section) has been moderating heavily against conservative comments. Pathetic.”
Interesting. But other sites that use disqus do not seem to be blocking my comments. It seems to be specific to BB and DC so far.
The comment moderation algorithms are not going to be article-specific. They are going to apply the same algorithm across the whole website, no matter what the content of the article is. So if they are looking to flag possible Q/pizzagate posts with words like “child abuse” in them, then they will get flagged even if they are made on an article where the topic is child abuse.
TLDR: algorithms don’t usually do subltety.
It's self-defense. Trolls are posting inflammatory comments to try and get them de-platformed.
Comments are getting very heated and troll farms are inciting people to get them to act. That is playing into their hands. Conspiracy wackos are also stirring the pot and that does not help our cause. There is an announcement to attend capital protests and be armed. That is most likely a black hat operation so DemocRATS can assault the first and second amendment. One thing to remember, I survived LBJ, Carter, Billyboy and Bammy. If by chance Uncle Joe is seated I will survive it too. One thing I have always said is never write Trumpster off. For those that think he is toast, I beg to differ O ye one of little faith. We are in good hands because the white hats are working overtime.
I noticed that todays articles on American Thinker have no comments.
I really hope they don’t ban comments. The comment section at AT
has some of the smartest people posting.
Hopefully, that’s what is going on.
They have to protect themselves from being attacked and shutdown over content they don’t publish
Some intentionally planted no doubt
