I think people here know that I’m a doctor.
I just completed the second shot of the two dose Pfizer vaccine. I felt virtually nothing after the first shot and nothing after the second shot given about 15 hours ago.
The injection consists of only 0.3 ml. Contrast that with the flu vaccine that is 0.5 ml.
The first shot helps your body recognize the virus, and the second revs up your immune system.
As you know, 99% of those infected with the virus recover fully. On the other hand there is a small percentage that recover but not fully. We call these people “long haulers.”
You might want to read up about them as many are formally very healthy even athletic.
Don’t be afraid of this shot. I recommend that you take it when it becomes available.

Every day, people die. In fact, 7800 people a day die in the United states. In two weeks, about 106,000 people die.
106,000 is about 0.03% of our population.
So, even if you assumed random distribution of the vaccine, we’d expect 0.03% of the people getting vaccinated to die within 2 weeks. Of course, we are vaccinated mostly at-risk people, really old people who are highly more likely to die, or people with other conditions, in addition to healthy doctors.
How many people have been vaccinated? 10 million, at least.
So, expectation would be that 3,240 people who got the vaccine died in the 2 weeks following their shot.
This, by the way, is how we get conspiracies about vaccines in general — people die after getting the shot, and people are like “but they just got the vaccine yesterday, that clearly is what killed them”, when in fact they would have died today anyway, and you’d just have to find some other “reason”.
Meanwhile, it is entirely expected that a number of people WILL DIE FROM THE VACCINE. If the doctor in florida is one of them, that sucks for him. But someone today will die while crossing the street.
A disease's pathogenicity within the population as a whole is not strictly defined by it's lethality to the individual host and we have to concern ourselves with the population as a whole. The counter measures we undertook were perfectly appropriate given the transmissibility of this virus.
Covid, IMO, is deadly because it is completely unknown to the herd and the bat coronavirus is extremely PERSISTENT. A bat coronavirus is naturally resistant to heat. That's why summer only slowed it down but never wiped it out. I predicted that btw. This persistence allows the virus to exist on and very effectively spread via "fomites"; that is, contaminated objects and surfaces-shopping cart handles for example. Further amplifying it's transmissibility is the fact that its receptor, the ACE2 receptor, exists in the GI tract as well as the respiratory tract so it is able to be transmitted by ingestion like a viral gastroenteritis (stomach flu, Norovirus) or via respiratory droplets like influenza.
The infectious dose is not known but it clearly low which means it is also transmissible to some, albeit, unknown extent via the airborne route especially to the immunosenescent and immunocompromised.
So again, we now have an effective vaccine. The fastest path to normalcy is to vaccinate as many people as possible-especially the most susceptible hosts. I can tell you I have had dose #1 and had no ill effects other than a sore shoulder.
I guess my sarcasm wasn’t as obvious as I thought. To be clear, I am mocking the conspiracy nuts.

Me? I’m right out there in the open; I’ll tell someone my opinion, understanding they have their own opinion. I am free to disagree as the person communicating with me is free to disagree.
I am most likely going to be one of those folks who will get banned from every place because I don’t take the shot.
After viewing the clips of Gates discussing stuff with the CIA about how to put stuff into vaccines..... no way am I going to trust that shot.... especially because he’s so in love with population control.

I think it’s worse than that. I think he and Melinda want population REDUCTION. I hope the people getting this vaccine don’t wonder why they’re mysteriously not procreating normally.
How can it prevent Covid when it has no live or attenuated virus in it?
The early discussions from Pfizer said it didn’t have any virus component in it. Dr. Fauci also said it would not give immunity for more than about 2 years.

And there was that one time the World Health Organization had to admit they put something in a vaccine that was causing women to be temporarily sterile.
Pro-Life groups were noticing women in the PI were not getting pregnant...mind you, these were women who wanted to get pregnant.
The WHO first denied anything and then admitted it was an ‘accident/oversight.’

It confers immunity by causing antibodies a unique structure on the virus. Dr Fauci has no credibility. It remains to be see. how looking g the immunity lasts or if the vaccine will need to be boosted periodically
