Amazon submitted a new filing in federal court on Tuesday in response to an emergency motion by Parler to restore its hosting services through Amazon’s AWS. Parler was kicked offline early Monday after Amazon said the social media company had violated its terms of service and Parler couldn’t find another company willing to do business. Parler sued Amazon on Monday alleging breach of contract and an antitrust violation.

AWS violated their own thirty-day notice policy. That means it was AWS that violated the contract and not Parler.
That’s genius...
Now lets see how the “justice” system deals with it
You seem to be treating this as if it were an isolated incident, but look at the bigger picture and what so many tech companies are doing all at the same time. All pure coincidence? Doubtful.
No worse than replies to @realDonaldTrump on twitter were for four years. All kinds of nasty things said about DJT, Melanie and even Barron.
“Just what do you mean by “far right”?”
You saw what I posted. There are some far right folks who are dangerous and unhinged just as there are far left who are dangerous and unhinged.
Evasive answer.
What do you believe the “far right” believes in? Blithely using a term invented by the left explains nothing.
I know it’s not a coincidence. They’re acting like a cartel. They should use the mafia laws against them (RICO). It started with Alex Jones.
That said, FR is different. It is a private Conservative forum.
Jim sets the rules. You can follow them, or you are free to go somewhere else.
The rules actually make posts more accessible to a wider audience.
Some people tune out if there is too much crudeness, and there is a point where it can interfere with the flow of whatever thought is being expressed.
Just my two cents.
Then they are totally responsible for their other sites that they allow on that don't meet TOS.
Twitter has a lot going on, and it’s not always easy to manage that kind of scale on your own. Today, Amazon announced that Twitter has signed a multi-year agreement with AWS (Amazon Web Services) to run its real-time timelines. It’s a major win for Amazon’s cloud arm.
While the companies have worked together in some capacity for over a decade, this marks the first time that Twitter is tapping AWS to help run its core timelines. …
So, why can’t conservatives just create competing companies in the tech world?
I’ll tell you why.
I’m telling you this as a 30 yr vet in finance/Wall Street/Banking. There is no level playing field. Do you think a conservative company doing tech could value for say, 500 BILLION, without making a profit? Yeah, me neither.
That’s just a start, but the Deep State in the mid 90s created the Tech Machine for the purposes of;
Data Harvesting
Stock market gains/profits for their cause
Propaganda
Quid pro quo payoffs
Tax breaks
Federal grants/treasury raiding
Control of Wall Street and Banking
What they accomplished is a remarkable feat. Also, they’ve done it very successfully under the radar.
So true - double standards.
I run a very active heart failure group on Facebook. So active, that they have asked me for advice in the past on how I keep the group so engaged.
Several times I’ve gone back to facebook when I’ve been hit by scammers. Scammers trying to prey on my members with their magic herbs, CBD and nutritional supplements. Some CBD MLM sellers who I booted then harassed me, called me a Nazi among other names and one had all of his friends threaten me. FB did zero.
I’ve also had quite a few posts lately of scammers coming in soliticing for organs for $$. Figured that would get some attention when I reported it. ZERO
Also had the “I hope you die of heart failure”. That got zero....
I’d like to see Parler’s reply because I remember ages ago I asked the owner @john and he told me they DO draw a line.
He said “if you can say it on a street in NYC then it’s fine”.
So threats etc. wouldn’t be allowed.
I agree though its a nightmare to police and not fair to boot them off with no notice!
Most all them I suspect.🤔
And that’s basically what happened at the DC protests.🤔
Freedom of the press is strictly for those who own one.
Amazon should no more have to host Parler than a baker should have to bake a cake for a gay wedding.
They should try scraping the Twitter feed of Dan Bongino or Ben Shapiro.
This whole thing is stupid. Seriously.
How many servers does it take to make a parlor?
Pretty sure I could build it out in one rack, and that includes storage.
Microsoft will even sell you Azure in a box.
There are lots of companies who would love to host, I think the parlor people are either stupid because they had no backup plan, or they are playing the victim for publicity and are waiting to go live again.
I am going to put all my eggs in another companies S3 basket, just no
Absolutely not but if they leave posts like those up on their site and don't respond when AWS brings it to their attention they may need to find a new hosting service.
Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences.
There are things called contracts though... unfair to kick them off at a weekend like that w/ no notice.
