ATT sent the following letter to it's employees. This is a letter telling ATT employees they will contribute the the ATT/WarnerMedia Federal PAC or else. Won't be long before they'll have them filling out absentee ballots under a managers supervision. This is bad.
To All PAC-Eligible Employees:
A critical component of our company’s efforts to be a responsible corporate citizen is actively participating in the political process. We do this in a variety of ways, including through corporate and employee political action committee (PAC) contributions consistent with our core values.
Employees on our Federal PAC Board recently convened a call to discuss actions and votes taken in last week’s Joint Session of Congress and decided to suspend contributions to members of Congress who voted to object to certification of Electoral College votes last week.
To be clear, prior to the joint session of Congress, we publicly opposed efforts to delay or overturn the certification of Electoral College votes.
As our CEO John Stankey said last week, freedom, democracy and rule of law are America’s bedrock and must never be usurped. We congratulate President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris on their Electoral College victory. There is much to be done to move the country forward.

Not a copy of the memo, but news article about it: https://www.dallasnews.com/news/politics/2021/01/11/dallas-based-att-suspends-pac-contributions-to-gop-lawmakers-who-objected-to-bidens-electoral-college-victory/
And info from AT&T website about PACs and employee participation: https://about.att.com/csr/home/governance/political-engagement.html
I don’t see how this demands that employees contribute; or that they aren’t free to contribute otherwise personally.
(And I never watch CNN; and I take any pronouncements from them with a huge pillar of salt...)
I’m way overdue with selling off my stock. Definitely something I must do.
And from the CNN article, “CNN’s parent company, WarnerMedia, is owned by AT&T.” CNN wouldn’t have a subjective, political motive for making that up.
It is not legal. It is coercion re donating, aka extortion - donate to what we want or you will lose your job.
A great Federal Election Laws rules/regulations lawsuit re PACS and SuperPacs.

#11. Implied extortion and consequences. That is a “threat” re forcing employees to donate to a cause they may not want to in order to keep their jobs.
Don’t you think that the ATT top leftists won’t keep a list of “who gave” and “who didn’t give”, and act according to their totalitarian impulses?

Ummm - it has no source except you and it doesn’t say what you say it says.
“Ummm - it has no source except you and it doesn’t say what you say it says.”
trebb, the source is ATT and the author at the bottom Mckeon, and of course it says what I say it says because that’s MY OPINION, which were all allowed.
Air Force huh, do you know what a blue falcon is?
So, even if it doesn’t say what you say it says, it says it because your opinion is that it says it - seems like you might be more intimate with the term Blue Falcon.
But, unlike your reaction to my service, I’ll thank you for yours.
Why spend your own money when you can spend someone else’s?
Net neutrality is coming soon! Accordingly, this website may be “neutralized” out of existence!
Reverse prior comment. Confirmed.
I once worked at a very large, well known company.
They were very supportive of United Way.This was right after the President of United Way & others were arrested for their behavior with charity $$$$.
I refused to donate. Discussion got more intense.
I finally asked my boss: In front of others: Why would you push me to donate to criminals???
He told me later I was the ONLY one who would not give a single cent.
trebb, how do you not understand the concept of an “opinion”?
While I do not see a source for this alleged email / letter from ATT, my own employer who happens to be a large multinational Bank worth trillions of dollars sends a very similar email every year encouraging employees to contribute to the corporate pack. It is very heavily frowned upon if we do not. I will also note that the large multinational bank that I work for was a huge Barack Obama supporter. I have never contributed to the corporate pack and despite being an IT leadership and a large multinational corporate bank, my career has stalled since 2007. G I wonder why?
I haven’t worked in the corporate world for a long time, so all I know about is United Way. A few years ago, I taught in a workplace literacy program for a community college. The local Democrat boss was a big shot on the college’s board. Because my classes were held in factories, I rarely had to go to the campus. One late afternoon I did stop by the office and everyone was gone except for the receptionist. She told they had all gone to some kind of campaign function held by the Democrat boss. I got the impression it was expected that they go. I was so far off anyone’s radar that I didn’t even get an invite. :)
I guess I could ask you how do not understand the difference between an opinion and a fact.
But, If you have decided that your opinions make things facts, then more power to you - hope it keeps you happy. I’ll try to remember your choice so as to never question you again...that way, neither of us will waste the other’s time.
