The ruling class beat Trump. Now it's salting the earth.
American Thinker ^ | 10 Jan, 2021 | John Green

The message is clear: "challenge us again at your own peril."

Donald Trump has the distinction of being the first challenger to our political ruling class in my lifetime. This ruling class is not strictly party-related. It comprises a broad array of Democrats (almost all of them), Republicans (a significant number of them), the media (the propaganda ministry), and bureaucrats (those faceless government employees who formed the "resistance" against the will of the people).

The Donald challenged their power, and now they're exacting their revenge. Whether fairly or fraudulently, he's been defeated for re-election, but that's not enough. Now his legacy must be destroyed and his supporters crushed. The ruling class is determined to ensure that no form of Trumpism or any challenge to their authority ever rises again.

Ancient mythology holds that conquering armies would salt the earth of beaten civilizations. This salting was a curse to forestall any future re-habitation. It was meant to ensure that a beaten civilization would never again challenge the victor. The beaten were to stay beaten.

We've reached the "salt the earth" stage of the ruling class's victory over the Trump movement. Democrats are demanding that President Trump be removed from office, via impeachment or the 25th Amendment — just two weeks before the end of his term. Twitter has banned him for life. Representative Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) has even submitted legislation to prohibit federal buildings from ever being named after Donald Trump. It's not enough that he was defeated for re-election; he must also be humiliated.

The rules are the same. Here’s how.

When Hillary was defeated in 2016, the Left went through the same machinations (internally) as the Right is now.

The Corporate Social Media is attempting to silence many voices on the Right, just as they did in 2016. And the Democrats love them some Corporations, regardless of what they claim.

These things need to be pointed out.

Yep. Secession is a likely response. The south seceded from the union when it realized that it would be a permanent political minority. We have reached that stage again.

Hard to disagree pt17. Reality is what reality is.

But still, through rampant fraud and lawbreaking, the election was stolen.

He can’t. He won’t. He knows it.

Believing he can is no less ignorant for our side, than it was for the Left.

You’re gonna have to forgive us if we don’t feel as comfortable as you. The list of things that the Left won’t do is getting shorter and shorter.

No kidding about the cheering after 911. I had started a new job in the Twin Cities area just before 911. Half of Moonbatapolis cheered when the second tower fell. I then realized that I was in enemy territory.

Trump lost an election. That’s all.

You need to remember that SCOTUS has been saved, so Trump’s legacy is ensured.

Biden is not going to be able to pack the court.

1)Trump had an election stolen
2)SCROTUS did nothing to stop it because the McConnell judges were in on the steal.
3)Biden does not need to pack the courts with CJ Roberts running that show. Dems will be able to win most big cases.

Turnabout is fair play. It’s been noted that Pelosi is shaking in her boots about President Trump doing a last minute declassification of the crimes of the Democrats.

He should not just declassify it, but have a publisher standing by to do a great vanity press, and give away the digital version of it ASAP.

If he fails to do this, the forces of evil will have won.

Scotus isn’t supposed to be partisan, but it is supposed to wield its power conservatively.

It’s now 6-3. I like our odds.

Not really. It’s roughly 5-4 Democrat now. 3 Dems, CJ Roberts and one of Kavanaugh/Gorsuch/ACB = 5 votes and wins for Democrats. We have two solid votes on SCOTUS now.

BS. Trump was a major force beating himself, aided by a herd of bots and idiots (e.g., Q morons and “Trump can do no wrong” sycophants). His twittering, lack of civility and humility didn’t sit well with a lot of folks, unfortunately, to an extent that overshadowed his many accomplishments. He should have wiped the floor with Biden so that voting fraud wouldn’t have mattered. Simply put, Trump lost to the worst candidate in this nation’s history because of very bad personnel choices coupled with the fact that he couldn’t or wouldn’t make some minor behavioral adjustments.

On the contrary. It’s the weakness of these Never Trump voters who are susceptible to your nonsensical arguments that cost the GOP.

Trump fights like a Democrat and that drives the “thank you sir may I have another” surrender caucus wing of the GOP base crazy. These are weak people and prone to surrender. They are the reason conservativism hasn’t advanced since Reagan. Trump arrived on the scene and showed them how to win. Instead, they would rather lose and live in Democrat chains. Sadly, really.

Not really. The “Trump tweets mean so I can’t vote for him” is a false and gaslighitng narrative. Conservativism hasn’t advanced since Reagan. The same pundits and voters who are complaining about Trump had a central role in the failures of the last 30 years. THEY are the problem. Not Trump.

Trump did not lose.

SCOTUS has not been saved but corrupted.

Biden is a puppet and the SCOTUS will be trashed.

I agree court packing is unlikely, but I hope not for exactly the same reasons as FDR’s failure. At least part of why FDR’s court-packing bill failed was because, by the time it was introduced, it was no longer necessary to deliver the desired pro-New Deal majority. Owen Roberts started voting pro-administration and Devanter retired and was replaced by Hugo Black, The New Deal now had a 6-3 majority, and the rest (including meaningful limits on the scope of federal power) was history.

Senator Manchin (D-WV) has said publicly he won’t support any attempts to pack the SCOTUS.

As a conservative Democrat, in a state overwhelmingly carried by Trump, I trust him to keep his word.

I’m kind of surprised he has remained a Democrat, especially after the GA result. But, if Schumer goes off the rails, I don’t expect he will remain so.

Not so fast. Don't put it past the rulers to make an attempt to void DJT's SCOTUS appointments.

Please Manchin is just announcing he’s ready to deal.
Manchin is all about Manchin and nothing else. He maintains office primarily because the state GOP can’t find a competent enough candidate (without the state’s peculiar “ triggering flaws”) to run against him. If Manchin feels the need to run for the senate again he will probably be challenged by the current governor who is nominally GOP.

Manchin wants to be president he will cut any deal with the Rat party that he thinks will advance that goal. I didn’t say it was a rational goal. I think the age of the moderate Rat triangulating his way to the presidency like Bill Clinton did is over. From what I hear Manchin doesn’t think so. What worked in 1992 will work for him.
