@RandPaul
This is the speech I'll be giving today from an undisclosed location.
I wrote a speech today.
I was planning to say I fear the chaos of establishing a precedent that Congress can overturn elections.
Boy, was I right.
Chaos. Anarchy. It’s wrong and un-American.
The vote we are about to cast is important.
Now more than ever.
The question is: Should Congress override the certified results from the states and nullify the states’ right to conduct elections?
The vote today is not a protest; the vote today is literally to overturn the election!
Voting to overturn state-certified elections would be the opposite of what states’ rights Republicans have always advocated for.
This would doom the electoral college forever.
It was never intended by our founders that Congress have the power to overturn state-certified elections.
My oath to the Constitution doesn’t allow me to disobey the law. I cannot vote to overturn the verdict of the states.
Such a vote would be to overturn everything held dear by those of us who support the rights of states in this great system of federalism bequeathed to us by our founders.
The electoral college was created to devolve the power of selecting presidential electors to the states.
The electoral college is, without question, an inseparable friend to those who believe that every American across our vast country deserves to be heard.
If Congress were given the power to overturn the states’ elections . . . what terrible chaos would ensue.
Imagine the furor against the electoral college if Congress becomes a forum to overturn states’ electoral college slates.
It is one thing to be angry. It is another to focus one’s anger in a constructive way. That hasn’t happened today, to say the least. We simply cannot destroy the Constitution, our laws, and the electoral college in the process.
I hope as the nation’s anger cools, we can channel that energy into essential electoral reforms in every state.
America is admired around the world for our free elections. We must, we absolutely must, fix this mess and restore confidence and integrity to our elections.
You can stop the fraud following the exact letter of the law. The exact letter of the law says that legislatures send the electors, so if governors and courts sent electors ignoring laws passed by state legislatures, they shouldn’t be counted.
It was also never intended that thieves, charlatans, anarchists and Communists would use the freedoms of the Bill of Rights too overturn a nation, but the FF provided a way to prevent it should the unlikely happen. Pence wimped out. "Its still a Republic if we can keep it"...from those who want to "Fundamentally Change It". BTW...it seems they stole the Ga. runoff too. Same way. GOP is useless and complicit.
I’m a little disappointed too but he’s not the only Republican taking this position. Various House members are saying the same.
They dont see it as appropriate to overturn the state electors. It is down to the legislatures, in their view..
Rand, I have a lot of respect for you but you’re off on the wrong tangent. The “certifications” of six states should not be “overturned” by congress but sent back to those states to verify they wish to certify the vote fraud in their states. In fact, a few of the states have talked about decertifying their prior certifications.
You say leave it to the states. I agree. Send it back to the states who had massive voter fraud and see if they want to decertify after all the evidence that now has been developed.
This 'speech' is a grand diversion from the reality.
“Voting to overturn state-certified elections would be the opposite of what states’ rights’
Obviously Paul does not recognize the rights of the rest of the states to NOT have their voters rights infringed upon by a few criminal states.
Republicans only stand on principle when it gives them the result they want. It's all a sham but it's nice to wrap yourself in the flag and declare that you are forced to endorse fraud.
You still a Rand fan, or is that Ayn Rand that you are a fan of? 8>)

I was thinking he my be our next hero in 2024.
Bye Bye.
Let me guess what he has in mind? Keep a stiff lip because we live to fight another day and give generously to political parties and candidates!
This all could have been averted had the Supreme Court agreed to hear the case and give a legal forum to the evidence. They instead, chose to evade their responsibilities.
I sort of agree that the States are to choose their electors by themselves. If 50 states do that in a corrupt manner then it’s a bad thing. On the other hand, if the federal government can override the states’ choices, that’s also bad.
If the people of a state are willing to allow the government of their state to cheat, well, that’s their choice.
A national popular vote takes away power from the individual states.
Ultimately the government of this country is decided by its millions of citizens, not by its leaders or the media. That’s the way it’s supposed to be.
He is right.
He can’t read. These questionable states violated the Constitution.
STFU Rand....go kiss some more Congressional ass.
Your little speech is horsesh*t & your fake act of being a rebel is over.
