Donald Trump's Next Challenge
American Thinker ^ | 6 Jan, 2021 | David Zukerman

The problem with the first term of Donald J. Trump, arguably, is that he did not have the wholehearted support of congressional Republicans. The proof, notwithstanding GOP majorities in House and Senate, the first two years of the Trump presidency, when the anti-Trump conspirators of the retired Obama regime, with the active support of media, foisted the 22-month-long Mueller probe that was based on the falsehood propagated by the Oust Trump Conspiracy.

Where was the congressman or senator to explain the conspiracy to remove President Trump in terms of the insight of Machiavelli, in Chapter 6 of The Prince:

[T]he innovator has for enemies all those who have done well under the old conditions, and lukewarm defenders in those who may do well under the new. This coolness arises partly from fear of the opponents, who have the laws on their side, and partly from the incredulity of men, who do not readily believe in new things until they have had a long experience of them. Thus it happens that whenever those who are hostile have the opportunity to attack they do it like partisans, whilst the others defend lukewarmly, in such wise that the prince is endangered along with them.

Rephrased in current parlance: "The enemies of President Trump consisted of the denizens of the Swamp. He could not count on wholehearted support from Republicans who were unsure that he could drain the Swamp and, in fact, feared the power of the Swamp. The Trump-haters believed they could attack with impunity a president they viewed as a political neophyte, confident that he would be left alone to defend himself and, in time, would inevitably be toppled from power.

It seems that the darkness has swept our once great country.

English grammar is SUCH a hassle.

Does this sentence mean that it is arguable that the lack of GOP congressional support was the problem, OR, that the lack of support is arguable?

Anyone who thinks that Trump had GOP congressional support for a second shouldn't be let out of the house.

The Trump Lagacy is partly:

1) Sea change in the Federal Judidicary.

2) Shining a revelatory light on Big Media.

3) Created an on-going force for election reform.

These three things will echo and unfold for decades to come.

He has done the U.S. a VAST public service — and I suspect despite the setbacks and losses, he isn’t Done.

“only if we allow it to block the Light.“

Eh. I believe you are missing the theme here this morning. Doom, gloom, lazy, cowardice, fear of hope is the idea here in every other posting.

It will continue after Trump is inaugurated as well. Tgey still won’t trust him.

Even members of his own cabinet were / are some suspect. One only need to look at the AG, and even SecDef. Several times he needed to be quicker to fire those that weren't totally on board.

Except the Dems lost seats at every level save the US Senate where they have gained just one seat so far.
And Trump haters like Flake, Corker, Ryan etc and out of power and we control more state legislatures than we did before and we even took control of the lower and upper houses in blue state New Hampshire plus the Executive Council, plus we control almost all the swing state legislatures and control most of the legislatures which will do the redistricting for 2022 elections etc etc.

The object of the modifier “arguably” is “[t]he problem”. The modifier is being used to eliminate the absolute nature of “[t]he problem”, which if unmodified states that this is the (and only) problem.

English grammar is a hassle.

It can be truly said that English is not a language. It is a language shrouded in mystery, wrapped in an enigma, and wearing an old overcoat!

"They are going to try to arrest him and his family."

He knows that, he's known that for some time - he's fighting for his life. Literally.

The Marxists want to "Romanov" them. Then all of their supporters in Congress.

Our Founding Fathers knew that, too. But they were counting on Patriots rising up. Just sayin'

Biggest mistake President Trump made was appointing Jeff Sessions as AG.
Second biggest mistakes were not firing Wray , Fauci and Esper as far back as May/June.

A short answer to the question in the headline is Trump will need to stay out of jail if he stays in the US. The Left will be coming for him and they intend to destroy him, his family and his businesses. They will arrest and, ultimately, imprison him if he stays within their reach.

The even bigger service Trump performed is to out all the RINO’s and make it impossible for them to hide.
