Waving Goodbye to the America We All Knew and Loved
American Thinker ^ | 6 Jan, 2021 | Ed Brodow

Is it too late to save our republic?

My generation believed in the United States. We believed in its respect for the individual, in its Constitution, in its status as the only benign superpower in history. In other words, we believed in American exceptionalism. "Traditional American values are worthy of a passionate defense," said author and TV commentator Monica Crowley. Referring to these values as "the American project," Charles Murray, author of Coming Apart, defined it as the continuing effort "to demonstrate that human beings can be left free as individuals and families to live their lives as they see fit, coming together voluntarily to solve their joint problems." If you boil it down, what makes our society unique in world history is the respect accorded the rights of the individual citizen. The Constitution was written as a restraint on the power of the government to interfere in our lives.

All that seems to be changing. As we move into 2021, to borrow from Shakespeare, something is rotten. It is difficult to pinpoint the origin or the exact nature of America's disintegration. It developed a head of steam when a man who hates this country, Barack Obama, was elected president. For eight years, we watched his concentrated assault on our values. Obama and his fellow Democrats have introduced some new concepts into our vernacular: democratic socialism, identity politics, social justice, diversity, inclusion, political correctness, Critical Race Theory, cancel culture. They were intended for the express purpose of destroying everything that is laudable about America.

It wasn’t over when that son of the Kennedy crime family won against Nixon in 1960, and got House and Senate majorities of 262-175 and 64-36, but it’s over today, with China Joe in the White House and sliver-thin House and Senate majorities of 222-213 and 50-50? I understand it’s annoying to find out that The Blob won, but it’s largely a one-time event. Without Trump proposing the $2K, thereby putting it on the table (50% blame) and McConnell not putting it up for a vote (50% blame), GA’s idlers would not have been motivated enough to spend the 10 minutes necessary to secure that particular gibsmedat.

The silver lining is that McConnell may just have set himself up for a leadership challenge. We may finally be able to see The Turtle humiliated and relegated to a non-leadership position in the Senate. It would be sweet to see him shuffling out of the senate on his last day 6 years later, a much diminished figure.

There is still Article V Convention of States. We have nothing left to lose now. The RATs will steal national elections until they have a supermajority. After that Congress passes amendments as easily as it does laws. We have 2 years before the beast can reach into the down ballot elections.

And like that America died. No glorious battle, no last stand. Just a whimper and a fpolish dream of future elections. The only way liberty will be restored now is by force. Evil will not go away because we ask them, they have to be defeated violently. At this point there is no other way.

I can only imagine those before us and many among us who sacrificed so much for the liberty we are squandering. Their heartbreak and defince shout to each of us. ACT!

One major difference between 1960 and 2020 is that election fraud was a local matter, focused in Illinois and Texas, and low tech. Another is the character of both parties. In 1960, there were conservatives, moderates, and liberals in both parties. In 2020, only liberals like Biden and radicals like AOC remain in the Democratic Party. Additionally, 60 years ago, almost everyone paid at least lip service to Biblical values and American exceptionalism. That consensus is long gone.

Demographics changed to much in America to have anything close to the original republic envisioned by our founding fathers.

No Republican will ever win a national election again which I assume is what the GOP wanted.

Yes. Waving goodbye is so much easier than defendIng the constitution. There are those who stomped away from the Bastogne and those who marched into it to hold the line.

Whole lotta whining going on here today.

Our children have been specifically targeted for over a century by our pubic schools, news, media, churches and now social media.

We had John Dewey’s early 1900’s Progressive (Marxist) anti-home schooling influence, followed by The Frankfurt School’s mid-1900’s social Marxist plan for children, then Hollywood’s 1950’s communist influences, then NEA’s No God push in our schools.

Then, the 1960’s CPUSA push of college youts for war protests, drug use and wanton fornication, then the 1980’s sitcoms ridiculing parents, then the 1990’s queer push, then the 2000’s self-esteem facade. And through it all, pro-socialism.

Now, MSM, SJW groups and social media are pushing "social justice" and stirring them to riot and destroy -- the anarchy needed before stepping in as heros to "save America".

Nearly everyone who voted in 1960 is dead now. It is a completely different country today.

That and $100 million spent per senate seat. The Billions spent on this election is obscene.

Yep... and what we miss is freedom means free to screw it up. Im 61 and I early retired at 53. Give me social security, expand medicare. Send me stimulus checks every quarter. I dont care. Now if we decide to split this country in to two ...... i’m all in.

The Republican Party has been destroyed. We should take this period we will have in the wilderness to rebuild it. As the Left continues to oppress, eventually people will want change. We need to prepare the party for that.

Anyone who votes in the future — especially in a primary — for a RINO-type candidate is not helping, and should simply save their vote and switch sides. We don’t need them.

It’s time to re-write, even if we are out of power for a few years extra to do it.

Either by force or become a virus in the belly of the beast. Voting is so 2020.
