where the kids had nothing else
to do on a Saturday summer night.
A Bob Sieger song comes to mind.

That song is so melancholy, yet so indescribably beautiful.
Seger had his moments of deeply poetic justice, and then there were things like Flatbush.
There was lots of crusin here in New York City during the disco-era 70s. However, it was mostly done by Italians in Brooklyn driving long new Caddies and Lincolns, blasting the latest Disco tunes.
"Crusin" nowadays, unfortunately, has a whole new meaning.
