My oath was 12 Oct 1988. While I did get a DD-214, and an EOS ( End of Obligated Service ), that oath as far as I remember does not have an expiration.

I took the oath on 11JUL1969 at FT SILL, OK with about 50 other persons.
FYI, I agree 100% with the Navaho Elders & a group of WWII Navaho Code Talkers who stated to President Ronald W. Reagan in 1983 that, “Mr. President, I am named Wilson H. Begay & I have been selected by our group gathered here to speak for us all. Neither you NOR any other living human can release us from the sacred oath that ALL US service-members took, as that oath was made to the Supreme of the Supreme, by whatever name that you may call Man Above or by whatever you hold most holy.” (PAUSE) “We GIs thank you most sincerely, for your kind offer but we must politely refuse your offer as the President of the USA & as the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, to release us from our oath at each of us took. You simply do not have the power to release us from the oath.”

Sadly under Obozo, but personally saw the military change for the better under President Trump these last four wonderful years.
He just started a full time job with the AF. With the Demonrats in power, not sure how long it will last; he and DIL are expecting their first child in a few months.
