Although I really REALLY want to go to the rally to support President Trump, the fact that I am retirement aged AND have Type 2 diabetes puts me in a higher risk category. Couple that with a scenario of being cheek to jowl in a crowd, even though it's outside, and I sadly have to pass. But I'll be there in SPIRIT, for sure. A friend just called me to ask if I wanted to join a small group who's going. I suggested they take the Light Rail from Baltimore (that's our home 20) to deprive Antifa/Anschmifa & BLM of the target of their car.
Does anyone know where the Baltimore Light Rail stops nearest the rally?
Does anyone know where I can see a schedule of the rally for attendees, so I can email it to my friend?
If there's anything else to know or anything else one should bring, I'd appreciate hearing about that as well, FRiends.
Please scream extra loud for those of us who cannot make it!!!!
The Baltimore Light Rail does NOT go to DC.
From Baltimore, you need to pick up the commuter train from Camden Station (near Stadiums) to go to DC Union Station. Union Station is near Capital 1st street. walk west to 16th street and the Elipse behind the White House where the event on 6th is being held.
Bathrooms are difficult. Take a plastic bottle to use discretely behind a tree and under a long coat. Empty it in a gutter drain . . . Or on any BLM mural you see.
Here’s a good source of info for the various rallies going on on Jan. 5 and 6...

Or from Union Station take the Red Line to Metro Center. The Ellipse is about 3 blocks from there.
There’s an app for that.
I always love good advice. Thanks.
About halfway down you’ll see “Public Safety Updates”. That’s where they start talking about the road closures around the Mall, and telling Washingtonians to stay away from the area because of people ‘looking for confrontation’.
There’s 2 different events on Jan.6, both in the Mall area. https://marchtosaveamerica.com/ One is at the Ellipse in front of the White House (opens at 7, starts at 9) and then it moves to the US Capitol from 1-5.
Go wherever you want - just tell folks you are “homeless’.
No toilets needed, eh?
Oh, and probably want to bring snacks/drinks. Mayor isn’t allowing any street parking within a couple of blocks of the Mall in any direction.
Taking food, high energy snacks, and especially water is a great idea.
Water gets heavy but if you want it and can’t find it, you’re in trouble. Or if you don’t want to have to sign off your firstborn.
Besides, it’s only heavy until you drink it all.
If you’re going to the Capitol, get off the Metro at Capitol South. If you’re going to the White House, get off at Farragut West. Other Metro stops near the mall are Federal Triangle, Smithsonian, L’Enfant Plaza and Metro Center.
ROFL Baltimore light rail goes to BWI, southern, ost point. That’s not near DC.
Unless, you wish to get to a MARC train station that’ll take you down to Union Station in DC.
But, IIRC I’m pretty sure there is no overlay of light rail and MARC lines.
Not everyone here is a male. (Sigh...again)
Yes, I’d not walk what is essentially a whole morning from Union Station. Union is east end plus of the Mall, WH is west end.
There might be some porta johns. Everything is closed in D.C. due to the virus. Usually it’s easy to go to a bathroom in the Smithsonian but that will not be an option this time.

The DC mayor is doing everything she can to hinder the rally and inconvenience the attendees. This is an example of the kind of one sided nastiness and intimidation we’ll be in for if the Dems control the government.
Here’s a link to a map of the DC Metro system (for trains), but they also have busses.

My 1st wife won a bet with a guy that without the use of hands she could pee more into a empty bottle than he could.
She Won.
“ Bathrooms are difficult.”
Perhaps adult diapers should be brought in addition your own food & water.
God bless those going. I was just told that my friend that I had dinner with yesterday tested positive for Covid. Not going to be a spreader.
