Aren’t there any decent even slightly center-right people to choose from in NYC?
I would have considered living there for a year if they had a Rudy-like mayor. Wouda been fun.
Perhaps but they likely stand no chance. I mentioned Chicago often a few years ago after Daley’s departure. He would be considered a moderate to what will follow. And look at what Chicago has now! A ghastly soul.
Same thing will happen to other cities. Walsh in Boston is not exactly a moderate or offers anything of substance but after his departure, the far-left extremists —are waiting to pounce there, too.
Cities are on the verge.
Well we had them for 20 years, even if Bloomie was a social prog. Between Rudy and Bloomberg the city had returned to being a great place to live and do business. But with the loss of middle class, loss of small businesses, rise of critical race theory in public policy, it is doubtful any center left, let alone center right can ever be elected. The problem now is the primary is, in a word, primary. There are no Republicans with the status of Rudy or bucks of Bloomie.Castamiadis, who owns WABC Radio and Gristedes and D’Agostino markets is the best bet if he wants to try.
No.
“Aren’t there any decent even slightly center-right people to choose from in NYC?”
No, there aren’t any.
It’s welfare-pimps and their moochers, crony cleptocrat supporting money bags and foreign money. Regular people left years ago. Now the leftists that can leave are finally fleeing.
No reason to be there anymore. NYC’s reasons to exist are all gone. You can do the same thing anywhere else, for less money, better weather, and more pleasant people.
