Perhaps but they likely stand no chance. I mentioned Chicago often a few years ago after Daley’s departure. He would be considered a moderate to what will follow. And look at what Chicago has now! A ghastly soul.
Same thing will happen to other cities. Walsh in Boston is not exactly a moderate or offers anything of substance but after his departure, the far-left extremists —are waiting to pounce there, too.
Cities are on the verge.
The worst example I know is Detroit.
It used to be one of the riches cities. 2.4 mil inhabitants. In 1960 the last Republican Mayor lost (quite unexpectedly) the election. Since then the 60 years of Democratic rule left it a shell of itself, not even able to remove the abandoned properties. Shrunk to like 800 thousands, if you are generous.
But there are thriving cities right next to it. It is actually quite crazy, the city limits are easily visible, on one side nice, clean, new buildings, on the other dilapidated old houses, which have not seen the paint for like 50 years.
I can just feel the pain of somebody who bough himself nice new house in 1960 Detroit and was left with nothing!
