The worst example I know is Detroit.
It used to be one of the riches cities. 2.4 mil inhabitants. In 1960 the last Republican Mayor lost (quite unexpectedly) the election. Since then the 60 years of Democratic rule left it a shell of itself, not even able to remove the abandoned properties. Shrunk to like 800 thousands, if you are generous.
But there are thriving cities right next to it. It is actually quite crazy, the city limits are easily visible, on one side nice, clean, new buildings, on the other dilapidated old houses, which have not seen the paint for like 50 years.
I can just feel the pain of somebody who bough himself nice new house in 1960 Detroit and was left with nothing!
Cities were attractive locations not for all of course but they had benefits. 2020 appears to be the beginning of something cruel and evil. The Democrats true colors were shown. I don’t know Detroit from first-hand knowledge but have read countless accounts. I traveled as part of my profession and oftentimes experienced city life. From acquiring the history of our country in places like Boston, Philadelphia and DC, to enjoying regional cuisines, to seeing various skylines of San Francisco, Chicago and New York and as a younger man activating other interests, city life isn’t the recommended option anymore.
