Recently our family was having a birthday celebration for our granddaughter. As she begins to leave the shelter of childhood that we have kept her warmly wrapped in, I spend time telling her that as changes come, God will make a way for her to have what she needs by memorizing scripture. “Thy Word have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you”. “In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths”.
As my grand daughter enters more relationships we are ready to be there for her. Since we have already walked down those paths that she will soon travel, we stand beside her available to assist and comfort. As a young believer, having her best friend Jesus inside gives her all she needs for salvation and love. We hold hands on this journey.
It was the first snowfall and the rest of the family was out sledding. I am handicapped and I was not able to be out there. I felt a tinge of resentment, but had to quickly seek forgiveness for that emotion. I watched the snow coming down, the fire warmed me, I drank hot chocolate and had birthday cake. I was blessed. If you have the ability to go out and play in the snow, go play!
Our property is bordered by cedar trees adorned in luxuriously green boughs and I saw a brilliant red cardinal seek shelter in a tree. It reminded me that in the arms of Jesus I can run to Him any time. A bitter spirit will handicap me further, so I began to praise and worship my Savior and a feeling of calm came over me.
I live by this rule; do onto others as you would have them do onto you. We all need love, so I give love as much as I can.
When Jesus works to save a person, His Holy Spirit begins knocking on the door of their heart. Although He has the ability to crash though, rather, he gently asks for people to recognize their own need.
Sometimes I need help walking, my husband always watches out for me and walks by my side. His hand is always ready to steady me. We are best friends, we watch the small critters that live on our farm. Seeing bunny tracks in the snow and then bobcat tracks behind them reminds us that our enemy seeks whom he may devour. Standing alert and staying aware of threats is necessary for our safety and security.
The edge of our property is bordered by angels who encamp about the righteous; our path grows brighter until that glorious day. Jesus said “I am the author and finisher of your faith”. Jesus told us that the last enemy that He conquered was death, to set at liberty those who were held in bondage from the fear of death. Jesus fills our hearts with His love. God knows us so well and cares so much that He can tell me the number of hairs on my head, He has less figuring to do on my husband's.
Beautiful. God Bless.
