Bob Seger's saxophonist Alto Reed passed away on December 30th from colon cancer at the age of 72.
My favorite is Sunspot Baby:
I looked in Miami
I looked in Negril
The closest I came was a month old bill
I checked the Bahamas and they said she was gone
Can’t understand why she did me so wrong
Yeah!
I saw most of the great rock ‘n Rollers in their heydey but not Silver Bullet.
A great show was more important than a deep repertoire.
“Katmandu” was the other Silver Bullet song I loved.
Their ‘thoughtful’ songs were maudlin IMHO, but to each their own.
Saw ZZ at the Palace in Auburn Hills Michigan a couple of times. IIRC one was with Tom Petty. Holy mackerel I’ve seen some great shows at some great venues.
Tull and Edgar Winter White Trash. Canned Heat Grande Ballroom Beverly St off Grand River Ave. Detroit.
It boggles my mind...how much I liked the music of the day...all of it...the Carpenters, Motown, etc.
Jazz at Baker’s Keyboard Lounge Livernois St. Detroit...after the bars closed. Sheesh.
Uncle Ted aka Motor City Madman...yeah I hear him on INFOWARS with AJ
: ) maudlin. Eye heard it as introspective.

WOW. R.I.P. Alto Reed. I think it was the 1st live music performance I ever saw indoors. Bob Seger...Birmingham, Michigan @ Birmingham Palladium...sometime n the ‘60s. I can still visualize the drummer and his drum setup for Heavy Music. Condolences to family and friends. Thanks Alto Reed. love.@@@@@@@@
My kids got me tickets to see Bob Seeger when he came to Little Rock about 6 years ago. Everyone stood at the start of the concert and remained standing through two encores. No cell phones, all of us Boomers brought Bic Lighters and passed them around to the “youngsters” with cell phones!

I must admit...the most amazing performance I ever saw was at the Palace...Auburn Hills Michigan. The fans NEVER SAT DOWN. The only time they stopped screaming was when the song started.
Garth Brooks
I have never heard of a more apropos name for a sax player. How did his mother know?
RIP, Mr. Reed.
But Keith Richards ages like a fine wine muscatel.
ping to our own...MAGALARRYKAG
