Bob Seger's saxophonist Alto Reed passed away on December 30th from colon cancer at the age of 72.

Here’s a nice rendition of the national anthem.... Reed played it before game 4 of the ALCS in 2011.
Thanks for that link - never saw/heard that before tonight. NICE!!!!
“Turn the Page” and “Hollywood Nights” are my two most fav Seger songs - the latter darn close to an autobiography of when I lived in Hollywood.
True. Richards batteries get replaced now and again and he just keeps on.
Who wants to play those eights and aces?
Who wants a raise, who needs a stake?
Who wants to take that long-shot gamble?
“I think it was the 1st live music performance I ever saw indoors. Bob Seger...”
Yep.... same here. Saw them in Austin in the early 80’s in the nose-bleed section. Fortunately back then, you could actually roam around the venue all the way to the stage if you liked. Couldn’t get that close though as the mega-speakers they were using was doing a number on my body. Made it about 40-50 feet to the stage and had to turn back as the pressure waves were too intense.
Gotta say I didn’t like any (well, maybe one of them was OK) Seger stuff after “Rambling, Gambling Man”.
Must have put on a very good show to maintain his popularity.
Joe’s run off to Fire Lake.
Turn the page...
RIP.
Thanks, love that song. My nick is actually a take on the Bob Seger song “The Long Way Home”. It’s a song that never hit the radio much from his album The Fire Inside.
“When will the madness end? “
George Soros and Bill Gates are still kicking.
RIP Alto. Thanks a lot, Man.
Thanks, I did not know that...but figgured that wasn’t his real name. Time flies. Enjoy life. Relax. Take the long way home sometimes.
My wife, when working for Detroit Edison, used to read the Seger house meter off Pine Lake in Orchard Lake, Michigan...not too far away from Jack Morris’ (Tiger pitcher) house. WOW. The memories.
Speaking of Texas...my 1st outdoor was Allen Park HS. Michigan...Ted Nugent & the Amboy Dukes.

Lots of dear friends are gone.
Thanks...haven’t heard the Seger one.
Turn the page.,.
“Rambling, Gambling Man”.
You should’ve seen that drummer at the Palladium...drums above his head...as he was seated....doing crossed-arms drumming to that song. It was WOW.
Speaking of Uncle Ted, he musta saw the handwriting on the wall as he bailed outta Michigan and set up shop in good ole Central Texas. Saw him perform with ZZ Top in Belton a few years back. Got some good stories from that one.
