“under the law” means what? I rather he say, “under the constitution”. The law suit against him was to eliminate the statutory law and allow him to be the president of the senate. The statutory law limits debate where the constitution allows it until it requires a vote in each chamber.

I still think it’s interesting that Pence’s trip to Israel was cancelled. Another poster (forgot specifically who it was) pointed out that the Israelis had had significant Covid numbers.

Even so, the trip was on Pence’s schedule until very recently. Could be Covid-related precautions that caused the cancellation, or some other mundane coincidence. Or, maybe not.

I don't believe this has anything to do with Wood - he's a laughingstock at this point. The senators who are acting are conservatives - they are trying to make sure Trump's voters see them as his successors, and also trying to stay on Trump's good side - he can and should rip GOP members who refuse to back him in his fight against the election steal.
