I’ve seen that also. He will be fine for a while, then all the sudden you’re completely lost, have no clue where to walk, etc. then she jumps and gives them a little nudge to basically say “hey honey, it’s OK” and he falls her.
I have had a close relative who suffered from dementia or Alzheimer’s, And they were very good at remembering certain things, like from their childhood and who they married, but anything recent you could tell them 1000 times and they wouldn’t remember it for more than a few minutes to an hour. I see many of the same traits/signs in Joe Biden that I saw in my circumstance.
An example I will use is said relative was a lifelong Red Sox fan and despite showing to him newspaper articles, live news reports, magazines, etc. that the Red Sox won the 2004 World Series he would not believe it because in his mind and his entire life the team was cursed. Even his wife, who he remembered marrying and being with for years telling him would not convince him otherwise.
Why? Could it be because no one else will allow him to suck their finger?
You just answered your own question, from what I can see. More often than not, Joe appears to require or prefer a Minder within his sight.
Someone to silently shake their head “No!” when he’s about to make a dumb statement that cannot be Spin Doctored away.
Jill needs to watch out for Commie’s elbow.
Joe cannot finish a sentence by himself. That is why the wife is always at his side. She finishes his sentences.

Expect her announcement for public office any day.....maybe for Gov of Delaware.

Holding her hand eliminates the need for a walker. The more she can speak in response to a question, the less chance he will say something like he's glad to be a pledge and looks forward to living in his frat house.

For a long time I saw her as sweet, dedicated to her hubby who she wanted to see him reach his life-long goal of becomeing POTUS.
Now that’s love!
But the more I see them and think about it, I can not help but think (at the best) she is one sick person who would let her husband suffer such humiliation with dimentia for other’s political gain.
That’s not love.
