Well it's been a long time since I saw that show.
I always liked Mary Ann over Ginger.
Now she's gone. Ginger still alive and kicking at age 86 though.
Haha, yes that’s it ...
That is a nice picture. After staring at Mary Ann for about 30 seconds, I realized that Gilligan was standing beside her.
Denver was another COVID fatality. About twelve years ago
Of course it was......it was 2005 and they said it was complications from throat cancer....I’m sure they’ll go back and put Covid as the cause of death.......30,000 bucks if he passed in the hospital........;)
As an aside during the opening credits of Gilligan’s Island the flag the Minnow passes is at half mast due to JFK’s assassination.
Yes, I was aware of that. The opening credits were filmed just after the assassination and in Long Beach, CA, I believe. You have to look carefully as the flag only appears for about a second.
Nowadays it seems that the flag is always at half-mast because somebody stubbed their toe, or something.
They lived and worked in a better day than we are facing now.
Maynard was way ahead of the times. Now a lot of Millennials are just like Maynard G. Krebs; saying "Work??!!" when asked if they have or want a job. In regards to "Dobie Gillis" show, my wife said she was a child and then I realized her family probably didn't have a TV set until the mid-1960s. For many, they only saw shows as reruns, if they were shown at all.
Mary Ann & Bailey
Ginger did not age well.
Long Beach? It always appeared to be Marina Del Rey. I will have to watch again. I never knew that, that the flag was half mast for President Kennedy. Wow.
